<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kathiawar</span> Peninsula in Western India

Kathiawar is a peninsula, near the far north of India's west coast, of about 61,000 km2 (23,500 sq mi) bordering the Arabian Sea. It is bounded by the Gulf of Kutch in the northwest and by the Gulf of Khambhat in the east. In the northeast, it is connected to the rest of Gujarat and borders on the low, fertile hinterland of Ahmedabad. Mohammed Ibrahim Baloch, better known as Mehul Kumar, is an Indian filmmaker and writer in Bollywood. He is known for directing the films Tirangaa (1992), Krantiveer (1993) and Kohram (1999). His other works include Mrityudaata (1997) and Kitne Door Kitne Paas (2002) among others as well as several Gujarati films.

Sarita Joshi is an Indian actress. Cited amongst the finest and most significant actors of Gujarati and Marathi theatre, Joshi is known for her Gujarati plays done with her husband Pravin Joshi in the 1970s. She garnered widespread recognition for her role as the matriarch Godavari Thakkar in the Star Plus hit dramedy Baa Bahoo Aur Baby (2005-2010). In 1988, she was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Acting in Gujarati by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India's National Academy of Music, Dance & Drama. In 2020, she has been awarded with Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award for her contribution in Art. She was recently seen in (2019) Zee TV's Hamari Bahu Silk as a hard-working business woman who hates films especially 'A' grade films. Sarita Joshi is currently seen on Anupama: Namaste America a prequel web series to Star Plus show Anupamaa.

The Makrani are a Muslim community mainly found in the Indian state of Gujarat. They are said to be African descendants. The name "Makrani" comes from the Makran region of Balochistan where the Makranis are said to have originally came from. Many Makranis today have adopted local Gujarati culture and also speak the Gujarati language. Although, a small minority of Makranis live in Ahmedabad and many of them have migrated to other states in India such as Uttar Pradesh to look for work, the majority of Indian Makranis reside in Kathiawar.

Kuch Kuch Locha Hai, previously titled Patel Rap, is a 2015 Indian Hindi-language comedy film directed by Devang Dholakia and starring Sunny Leone, Ram Kapoor, Evelyn Sharma and Navdeep Chhabra in lead roles. The film is loosely inspired by the Gujarati comedy play Lage Raho Gujjubhai starring and directed by Siddharth Randeria. The film is presented by Magic Pictures and Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Asha Jhaveri is the associate producer of the film. The film marked the debut of actor Navdeep Chhabra. It was released on 8 May 2015. It received mostly negative reviews. The movie title can easily be confused with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai which was released in 1998.
