    Bassam Tibi, is a Syrian-born German political scientist and professor of international relations specializing in Islamic studies and Middle Eastern studies. He was born in 1944 in Damascus, Syria to an aristocratic family, and moved to West Germany in 1962, where he later became a naturalized citizen in 1976.

    Michèle Lamont is a sociologist and is the Robert I. Goldman Professor of European Studies and a professor of Sociology and African American Studies at Harvard University. She is a contributor to the study of culture, inequality, racism and anti-racism, the sociology of morality, evaluation and higher education, and the study of cultural and social change. She is the recipient of international prizes, such as the Gutenberg Award and the prestigious Erasmus award, for her "devoted contribution to social science research into the relationship between knowledge, power, and diversity." She has received honorary degrees from five countries. and been elected to several national honorary scientific societies. She served as president of the American Sociological Association from 2016 to 2017.

    Michael Craig Hudson was an American political scientist, the director of the Middle East Institute and professor of political science at the National University of Singapore. He was also professor emeritus at Georgetown University, where he was professor of international relations since 1979 and Saif Ghobash Professor of Arab Studies since 1980 in the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service. While at Georgetown, Hudson served as director of the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies intermittently for over twenty years, most recently from 2007 to 2010.

    Lassa is a municipality in the Byblos District of Keserwan-Jbeil Governorate, Lebanon. It is 90 kilometers north of Beirut. Lassa has an average elevation of 1,130 meters above sea level and a total land area of 739 hectares. The village contains one public school, which enrolled 15 students in 2008. Its inhabitants are predominantly Shia Muslims with a Maronite minority.

    Sarah E. Wagner is an American professor of Anthropology at the George Washington University's Columbian College of Arts and Sciences and a 2017 Guggenheim Fellow. Wagner is especially recognized for her research and work on genocides.

    Deborah Jane Yashar is an American political scientist. She is a Full Professor of Politics and International Affairs at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. Her research interests involve politics of children and immigration in the Americas.

    Thomas J. Christensen is an American political scientist. He is the James T. Shotwell Professor of International Relations at the School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University.

    Ishac Diwan is a prominent Lebanese economist. He currently teaches economics at l'École normale supérieure and is Director of Research at a new center which he co-founded with the French economist Daniel Cohen and other colleagues called Finance for Development Lab located at the Centre pour la recherche économique et ses applications (CEPREMAP).
