Jennifer Fratesi is a Canadian former competitive swimmer who specialized in backstroke events. Fratesi set a Canadian record of 2:11.16 in the 200-metre backstroke at the 2001 FINA World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, placing 4th in the world. This national record would last nearly a decade, one of the oldest in the country. Fratesi grew up in Sault Ste. Marie Ontario swimming for the Sault Ste Marie Aquatics club until age 15, then relocated to the national swim center in Waterloo Ontario. She saw an immediate drop in her times here under the direction of Bud McAllister, an American born coach. Fratesi went on to win 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze at the Junior Olympics in Sydney, Australia and won 10 national senior titles in her career.
Frances Sarah Adcock is a British-born Australian former competition swimmer who specialized in backstroke events.
Elizabeth Warden is a Canadian former competitive swimmer who specialized in backstroke and individual medley events. She won a silver medal in the 400-metre individual medley at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with a time of 4:47.69. Warden was also a member of the swimming team, and a graduate of the University of Toronto.
Viktor Bodrogi is a Hungarian former swimmer, who specialized in backstroke and butterfly events. He is a two-time Olympian, a five-time All-American honoree, and a multiple-time Hungarian title and record holder in both backstroke and butterfly. He also defended two titles in the same stroke at the 2000 and 2001 European Junior Swimming Championships in Dunkerque, France, and in Valletta, Malta, respectively. Bodrogi is a former varsity swimmer for the USC Trojans under head coach Dave Salo, and a graduate of history and social sciences at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Sarah Paton is an Australian former swimmer who specialized in long-distance freestyle events. She is the sister of swimmer Siobhan Paton, who won six gold medals at the 2000 Summer Paralympics, and holds 13 world records in S14 category. Paton is also a member of Telopea Swim Club, and is coached and trained by Mark Skimming.
Kolbrún Ýr Kristjánsdóttir is a retired Icelandic swimmer, who specialized in backstroke and butterfly events. She is a two-time Olympian, and former Icelandic record holder in the same strokes.
Lee Da-hye is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in backstroke events. Lee qualified for the women's 200 m backstroke at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by clearing a FINA B-standard entry time of 2:14.88 from the Dong-A Swimming Tournament in Seoul. She challenged seven other swimmers in heat two, including top medal favorite Evelyn Verrasztó of Hungary. She edged out Guatemala's Gisela Morales to claim a fifth spot by half a second in 2:17.73. Lee failed to advance into the semifinals, as she placed twenty-fifth overall in the preliminaries.
Chonlathorn Vorathamrong is a Thai former swimmer, who specialized in backstroke events. She is a two-time Olympian and a six-time medalist at the Southeast Asian Games.
Şadan Derya Erke is a Turkish former swimmer, who specialized in backstroke events. She is a two-time Olympian and a member of Istanbul Swimming Club. She previously held Turkish records in the 50, 100, and 200 m backstroke, until they were all broken by Hazal Sarikaya in 2012. Erke is also a graduate of Marmara University in Istanbul.
Karen Barbara Lee is an English former competitive swimmer who represented Great Britain in the Olympics and European championships. She specialized in backstroke events. She finished sixth in the 200-metre backstroke (2.10.27) at the 2002 European Short Course Swimming Championships in Riesa, Germany. She was also a member of Team GB starting in 1998, and a varsity swimmer for the Loughborough University team, under head coach Ben Titley.
Gretchen Gotay Cordero is a Puerto Rican former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle and backstroke events. She won a total of four medals in both freestyle and medley relays at the Central American and Caribbean Games. She is a member of Athens Bulldogs Swim Club under her personal coach Harvey Humphries, and a graduate with a master's degree in sports management at the University of Georgia in Athens.
Hali Flickinger is a retired American professional swimmer who specializes in freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley events. She represents the Cali Condors of the International Swimming League.
Regan Smith is an American competitive swimmer. As of 2022, Smith trains under Bob Bowman with the Arizona State University professional training group. She is the world junior record holder in the women's long course 100-meter backstroke and 200-meter backstroke and a former world record holder in the long course 100-meter backstroke and the 200-meter backstroke. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in three events representing the United States, winning a bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke, a silver medal in the 200-meter butterfly, and a silver medal in the 4×100-meter medley relay. At the World Aquatics Championships, she won individual gold medals in the 200-meter backstroke in 2019 and the 100-meter backstroke in 2022 and a relay gold medal swimming the backstroke leg of the 4x100 medley relay in 2023.
Kaylee Rochelle McKeown is an Australian swimmer and triple Olympic gold medalist. She is the world record holder in the long course 50 metre backstroke, 100 metre backstroke and both the long course and short course 200 metre backstroke. She won gold in both the 100 metre and 200 metre backstroke, as well as the 4×100 metre medley relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics staged in Tokyo in 2021. In 2023, she was named as the "Best Female Swimmer of the Year" by World Aquatics, after sweeping gold in all three events of backstroke at all three World Cup legs, held in Berlin, Athens and Budapest in October, 2023.
Rhyan Elizabeth White is an American swimmer. She won a silver medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics for her contribution in the prelims of the event and placed fourth in both the 100-meter backstroke and the 200-meter backstroke. At the 2020 Olympics, White also became the first Utah-born swimmer to compete in an Olympic Games. At the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, she was the only swimmer representing the United States to win a medal. She won her first world title in the 200-meter backstroke at the 2021 World Short Course Championships.
