Memfis Film AB also known as Memfis Filmproduktion AB and AB Memfis Film & Television, is a Swedish film production company. Founded by Lars Jönsson in 1989, [1] Memfis is one of few comparatively new production units that has shown staying power and played a continuous role in the Swedish film community. Memfis have produced film by Lukas Moodysson, Josef Fares, and Lars von Trier among others. [2] [3]

<i>Summer with Monika</i> 1952 film

Summer with Monika is a 1953 Swedish romance film written and directed by Ingmar Bergman, and starring Harriet Andersson and Lars Ekborg. It is based on Per Anders Fogelström's 1951 novel of the same title. It was controversial abroad at the time of its first release for its frank depiction of nudity and, along with the film One Summer of Happiness from the year before, directed by Arne Mattsson, it helped to create the reputation of Sweden as a sexually liberated country.

Melancholia is a 2011 apocalyptic psychological drama thriller art film written and directed by Lars von Trier and starring Kirsten Dunst, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Kiefer Sutherland, with Alexander Skarsgård, Brady Corbet, Cameron Spurr, Charlotte Rampling, Jesper Christensen, John Hurt, Stellan Skarsgård, and Udo Kier in supporting roles. The film's story revolves around two sisters, one of whom marries just before a rogue planet is about to collide with Earth. Melancholia is the second film in von Trier's unofficially titled Depression Trilogy. It was preceded in 2009 by Antichrist and followed by Nymphomaniac in 2013.

Dimension is a 2010 Danish unfinished gangster film written and directed by Lars von Trier. Production began in 1990, the film was shot in over six years from 1991 to 1997. The original intention was to continue production in four-minute segments every year for a period of 33 years for a final release in 2024. In 2002, von Trier lost interest in the project after the death of Cartlidge, Constantine, and Hugo Järegård. The unfinished film consists of the completed footage as a short film at the time, the rest of the film's development was abandoned without them.

The Blizzard is a 1923 Swedish drama film directed by Mauritz Stiller, starring Einar Hanson, Mary Johnson, Pauline Brunius, and Hugo Björne. The film's original Swedish title is Gunnar Hedes saga, which means "The story of Gunnar Hede". The narrative revolves a student who tries to save his family's mansion which is facing bankruptcy. The film is loosely based on the Selma Lagerlöf novel The Tale of a Manor.

Nordisk Tonefilm was a Swedish film production company founded in 1930 as a subsidiary of the Danish film production company Nordisk Film Kompagni. The company's most famous film was One Summer of Happiness (1951). In early 1941, the company sought permission to distribute Veit Harlan's anti-semitic Nazi propaganda film, Jud Süß in Sweden but it was banned by the censor. Production mainly took place at the Kungsholmen Studios in Stockholm.
