Memory Lane (Dutch : De terugreis) is a 2024 comedy-drama film written by Marijn de Wit and co-written and directed by Jelle de Jonge. The film was a big box office hit in The Netherlands and was awarded the Golden Film. [2] It was chosen as the Dutch entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards. [3] The film won two Golden Calf awards for best feature film and best leading role for Leny Breederveld. The winners were announced at the Netherlands Film Festival. [4]
Jaap has been together with Maartje for almost 50 years. While the grumpy Jaap isn't very keen on doing things anymore, the sometimes slightly confused Maartje is still full of life. When the couple receives a letter from an old holiday friend, Jaap is reluctantly convinced to visit him in Southern Europe. The two travel in their old car through a completely changed Europe; bickering, but also recalling one memory after another. Along the way, Jaap realizes that his wife is suffering from dementia.

The Golden Film is a film award recognizing domestic box office achievements in the Netherlands. The Golden Film is awarded to films from the Netherlands once they have sold 100,000 tickets. Oink is a 2022 Dutch stop-motion animated comedy film based on the book The Revenge of Oink by Tosca Menten. It was the first stop motion feature film ever made in the Netherlands. The film premiered on the 72nd edition of the Berlin Film Festival. The film won three Golden Calves for Best Feature Film, Best Director and Best Production Design. Making it the first animated film to ever win these awards. It also received the Golden Film, a distinction for Dutch films with more than 100.000 tickets sold during its release. The film also made it on the shortlist for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature but wasn't nominated.
