The Men's National Collegiate Athletic Association is an athletic association in the Philippines, and is the direct counterpart of the older Women's National Collegiate Athletic Association (founded in 1970). The Men's National Collegiate Athletic Association (MNCAA) is exclusive for men. The MNCAA was founded in 2004. Competition is divided into three divisions: Seniors for college students, Juniors for high school students, and Midgets for grade school and first year high school students. The competing sports of the tournament are Basketball, Volleyball, Futsal, Table Tennis, Badminton and Streetdance. [1]

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletes from up to 1,268 North American institutions and conferences. It also organizes the athletic programs of colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, and helps over 480,000 college student athletes who compete annually in college sports. The organization is headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Baguio, officially the City of Baguio, is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Philippines. The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. The eight member schools are Adamson University (AdU), Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and University of Santo Tomas (UST). Varsity teams from these universities compete annually in the league's 30 events from 17 disciplines to vie for the overall championship title, namely, 3x3 basketball, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, fencing, football, judo, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo poomsae, taekwondo kyorugi (sparring), tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

José Rizal University is one of the schools situated in the east side of Mandaluyong, the others being Arellano University – Plaridel Campus and Don Bosco Technical College.

Saint Louis University, also referred to by its acronym SLU, is a private Catholic research basic and higher Educational institution run by the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in A. Bonifacio Street, Baguio City, Philippines. It was founded on December 1, 1911, by the CICM Missionaries. It offers programs at the elementary, secondaryundergraduate and graduate levels. It has campuses throughout the Baguio metropolitan area. SLU is PAASCU-accredited and one of the universities in the Cordillera Administrative Region which passed the newly mandated CHED's Institutional Sustainability Assessment. It is under the CICM Philippines School Network or CICM-PSN. It is the oldest of the CICM-PSN schools. The patron saint of the university is St. Aloysius de Gonzaga. It is the largest university north of Manila with more than 40,000 students as of A.Y. 2018–2019.
College basketball in the Philippines is fragmented; as of today there is no single governing body, with several leagues in Metro Manila and in the provinces. The University Athletic Association of the Philippines and National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) champions are considered to be the major champions, although several other leagues, claim their champions in equal standing with those of the UAAP and the NCAA.
Arellano University (AU) is a private, coeducational, nonsectarian university located in Manila, the Philippines. It was founded in 1938 as a law school by Florentino Cayco, Sr., the first Filipino Undersecretary of Public Instruction. The university was named after Cayetano Arellano, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. It operates seven campuses located throughout Metro Manila and the main campus is located along Legarda Street, Sampaloc, Manila. The Baguio Teachers' Camp (BTC), sometimes referred as Teacher's Camp is an teachers' training center and events venue located along Leonard Wood Road in Baguio, Philippines. It is a recognized heritage site by the Baguio city government since 2005 and the national government since 2008.
