Mendix is a Dutch low-code software platform company that provides tools to build, test, deploy and iterate applications. Its App Store offers new widgets to access native device functions, such as contacts, camera, geolocation and bar code scanner.

History

Mendix was founded in 2005 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands . In October 2011, the firm raised $13 million with its first round of venture capital funding.  In 2012, it moved its headquarters to Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Two years after in January 2014, Mendix closed a $25 million Series B led by Battery Ventures and reported growth for the fifth consecutive year. In 2018, Siemens acquired Mendix for $730 million. Mendix is now an independent subsidiary.
