Mexicana Universal Jalisco is a pageant in Jalisco, Mexico, that selects that state's representative for the national Mexicana Universal pageant. Jalisco is considered one of the strongest states in Mexican pageantry, as they are almost always among the finalists.
Jalisco is the first state that has produced more winners of Nuestra Belleza México/Mexicana Universal in history. With 5 Nuestra Belleza México crowns (now Mexicana Universal), 3 of them being consecutive years 2008, 2009, 2010. The state organization has also produced one Nuestra Belleza Mundo México in 1996 and the second Miss Universe winner in Mexican history Ximena Navarrete in 2010.
Jalisco is the state was the first to place two representatives in the top 5 (2008, 201 0, 2014). Jalisco was placed for the eleventh consecutive year in the top 5 since 2004.

1In 1996, a pre-pageant to choose the delegate to Miss World was held the day prior to the final Nuestra Belleza México competition. Yessica Salazar of Jalisco resulted as the winner. She eventually placed among the Top 16 during the final.
As of 2000, it is not uncommon for some states to have more than one delegate competing simultaneously in the national pageant. The following Nuestra Belleza Jalisco contestants were invited to compete in Nuestra Belleza México. Some have placed higher than the actual state winners, but have yet to win.

María de Guadalupe "Lupita" Jones Garay is a Mexican actress, model, producer and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 1991. She was the first Mexican contestant to win a major international beauty pageant.
The Mexicana Universal is a national beauty pageant in Mexico held annually since 2018, replacing the former pageant, Nuestra Belleza México, held since 1994. Currently, the pageant is responsible for selecting the country's delegates to Miss International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Charm, Nuestra Latinoamericana Universal, and Miss Orb International. The current Mexicana Universal is Melissa Flores of Michoacán, who represented Mexico at Miss Universe 2023 but was unplaced.

Thirty-three contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Elisa Nájera from Guanajuato, who later competed in Miss Universe 2008 in Vietnam where she was the 4th Runner-up. Nájera was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Rosa María Ojeda. She is the first and only Guanajuatense to win this title.

Thirty-three contestants competed for the national title, which was won by Karla Carrillo from Jalisco, who later competed in Miss Universe 2009 in The Bahamas. Carrillo was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Elisa Nájera. She was the second Jalisciense to win this Title.
The 13th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Espacio Cultural Metropolitano of Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico on September 2, 2006. Thirty contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Rosa Maria Ojeda from Sinaloa, who later competed in Miss Universe 2007 in Mexico where she was a Semifinalist in the Top 10. Ojeda was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Priscila Perales. She was the second Sinaloan to win this title.
The 16th annual Nuestra Belleza México pageant was held at the Centro de Convenciones Yucatán Siglo XXI of Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico on September 20, 2009. It was the second time there were back-to-back victories for a state in Nuestra Belleza México history: Ximena Navarrete from Jalisco was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Karla Carrillo also from Jalisco. She was the third Jalisciense to win this title. Thirty-four contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title. Navarrete competed in Miss Universe 2010 in the US and won the Universal Title.
The 8th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Aeropuerto Internacional "Lic. Adolfo López Mateos" of Toluca, Estado de México, Mexico on September 28, 2001. Forty-seven contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Ericka Cruz from Yucatán, who later competed in Miss Universe 2002 in Puerto Rico. Cruz was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Jacqueline Bracamontes. She is the first and only Yucateca and the third winner of foreign descent to win this Title.
Sonia Yesenia Cruz Ayala is a Salvadoran beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Nuestra Belleza El Salvador 2010 and represented her country in the 2010 Miss Universe pageant.

Thirty-four contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Karina González from Aguascalientes who later competed in Miss Universe 2012 in United States where she was a Semifinalist in the Top 10. González was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Karin Ontiveros and Ximena Navarrete Miss Universe 2010. She was the first Hidrocalida to win this title.
Nuestra Belleza Jalisco 2010, was held at the Auditorio Telmex in Guadalajara, Jalisco on July 23, 2010. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, Karin Ontiveros of Amatitan was crowned the winner. Ontiveros was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza Jalisco 2009 Janeth Perez and Miss Universe 2010, Ximena Navarrete. Twelve contestants competed for the state title. The pageant was hosted by Carlos Anaya y Paola Velazco.
