Miss International 2018, the 58th Miss International pageant, was held on 9 November 2018, at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Kevin Lilliana from Indonesia crowned her successor Mariem Velazco from Venezuela at the end of the event. This marks Venezuela's eighth victory at Miss International - the most in the pageant's history. This is the third time in Miss International history that the finals night saw the return of the previous year's runners-up to crown their respective successors. This year Miss International comeback edition with the theme "Cheer All Woman" alongside Miss International Japan 2019.

Contents

A total of 78 contestants from countries and territories competed in this year's Miss International pageant, surpassing the previous record of 73 contestants in 2014, making the biggest turnout in the pageant's history. [1]

The pageant was hosted by Tetsuya Bessho on his fifth consecutive year of Miss International.

Location and date

On 12 April 2018, it was announced during a website conference by Akemi Shimomura, the president of the International Cultural Association and the president of Miss International Organization, that the 2018 pageant would be held in Tokyo Dome City Hall, Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan, for the third consecutive year on Friday, November 9, 2018. Pageant

Unlike in 2017 contestants were classified under five continents: (1) Europe, (2) Oceania, (3) Africa, (4) Americas, and (5) Asia. During the Competitions Rounds; National Costume, Swimwear, and Evening Gown, then the contestants were trimmed down to 15 Semifinalists, after which, the judges narrowed the finalists down to the Top 8, then judges decided the Top 8 to compete in the question and answer portion. and then the judges choose Top 5 which Miss International 2018 and her four Runners-up like 2017 format.

The Señorita Panamá is a national beauty pageant in Panama. As of the 2024 edition, Señorita Panamá winners represent Panamá in Miss Universe and Miss International. The Miss Panama brand started in 1952, when the Panamanian Institute of Tourism received an invitation from Miss Universe to send a representative. In 1975, the Señorita Panamá name was used for the first time, reverting to Miss Panama in 1976. In 1982, Señorita Panamá was created by RPC Channel 4 as an alternative to send its winners to the Miss World contest in London. These pageants, along with smaller pageants such as Miss International Panamá and Miss World Panamá celebrated to select delegates for international representations.

The 54th Annual Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant was held at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum on October 22, 2008, in Hato Rey section of San Juan, Puerto Rico. A record of 70 contestants competed for the crown, in which the competition was televised live by WAPA-TV. On October 11, 2008, the show entered its final stage when twelve finalists elected by the public remained.

The Miss Aruba is a national beauty pageant in Aruba. The pageant was founded in 1964, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe.

Miss Earth 2013, the 13th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on December 7, 2013 at the Versailles Palace in Las Piñas, Metro Manila, Philippines. Tereza Fajksová of the Czech Republic crowned her successor Alyz Henrich of Venezuela at the end of the event.

Angenie Anamaria Simon is a Curaçaoan model and beauty pageant titleholder who won the Miss Curaçao 2009 and went to the Miss Universe 2009 in The Bahamas, and the Miss World 2010 in Sanya, People's Republic of China. She earned a place in the national and regional pageant history records by being the first Miss Caraïbes Hibiscus winner who was crowned by a compatriot. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. It was the second time where Puerto Rico won Miss World, after Wilnelia Merced in 1975.

Señorita Panamá 2021 was the 55th Señorita Panamá pageant. It selected the national representatives to the Miss Universe, Miss Supranational, and Miss Grand International competitions. This was the sixth edition of the renewed Señorita Panama pageant, under the direction of Cesar Anel Rodríguez, who took charge of the national event in 2016. Twenty nine preliminary contestants were selected from throughout Panama and competed for the crown.

Miss International 2023 was the 61st Miss International pageant, held at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan on 26 October 2023. Jasmin Selberg of Germany crowned Andrea Rubio of Venezuela as her successor at the end of the event, marking the ninth time that Venezuela won the competition - the most wins in the pageant's history.
