Miss International 2008, the 48th Miss International pageant, was held on November 8, 2008 at The Venetian Macao in Macau, the presenters are Eric Tsang, Dodo Cheng, Astrid Chan. 63 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown, marking the biggest turnout in the 48 years of the pageant, surpassing the previous of 61 during last year pageant. The contestants also paid a visit to Hong Kong, Tokyo. Miss International 2007, Priscila Perales of Mexico, crowned her successor Alejandra Andreu of Spain as the new Miss International. [3] [2]

Miss Universe 1984 was the 33rd Miss Universe pageant, held on 9 July 1984 at the James L. Knight Convention Center in Miami, Florida, United States. Yvonne Ryding of Sweden was crowned by Lorraine Downes of New Zealand. Eighty-one contestants competed in this year. This is the third time that a Swedish woman has won Miss Universe, following Hillevi Rombin in 1955 and Margareta Arvidsson in 1966.

Miss USA 2008 was the 57th Miss USA pageant, held at the Planet Hollywood Theatre for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 11, 2008. At the conclusion of the final night of competition, Crystle Stewart of Texas was crowned the winner by outgoing titleholder Rachel Smith of Tennessee. Crystle represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant, which was held in Vietnam, where she placed in the Top 10. This was also the first time in the pageant's 56-year history that two consecutive women of African Americans have been crowned.

Miss World 2008, the 58th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 13 December 2008 at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa. Originally, the pageant was going to take place in Kyiv, Ukraine, but because of the ongoing 2008 Russo-Georgian diplomatic crisis in neighbouring South Ossetia, the Miss World Organization decided to move the pageant away from Eastern Europe. 109 contestants from all over the world compete for the crown, the second highest turnout in the 59 years of the pageant. Zhang Zilin of China crowned Ksenia Sukhinova of Russia as the brand new Miss World.

Lorenza Bernot Krauze is a Mexican model and beauty pageant titleholder who competed in the Miss International 2008 pageant.

Miss International 2009, the 49th Miss International pageant, was held on November 28, 2009 at the Sichuan International Tennis Center in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. The pageant was originally scheduled to be held on November 7, 2009 at The Venetian Macao in Macau, but the host committee backed out. 65 contestants competed for the coveted title. Alejandra Andreu of Spain crowned Anagabriela Espinoza of Mexico as the new titleholder.

Nuestra Belleza México 2007, the 14th Nuestra Belleza México beauty pageant, was held at the Auditorio "Profr. Manuel Bonilla Valle" of Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico on October 6, 2007. Thirty-three contestants from the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Elisa Nájera from Guanajuato, who later competed in Miss Universe 2008 in Vietnam where she was the 4th Runner-up. Nájera was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Rosa María Ojeda. She is the first and only Guanajuatense to win this title.

Miss World 2010, the 60th anniversary of the Miss World pageant, was held on 30 October 2010 at the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China after Vietnam backed out of the hosting contract. 115 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Kaiane Aldorino of Gibraltar crowned her successor Alexandria Mills of the United States at end of the event.

She earned a place in the national and regional pageant history records by being the first Miss Caraïbes Hibiscus winner who was crowned by a compatriot. Currently she is working as a Financial Assistant and she took in 2011 the challenge in partnering with national social entrepreneur and international youth ambassador Gwendell Mercelina Jr. for the Miss Caraïbes Hibiscus Curaçao pageant.

Miss International 2013, the 53rd Miss International pageant, was held on December 17, 2013 at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Alejandra Andreu, Miss International 2008, crowned Bea Santiago of the Philippines at the end of the event. This was the second consecutive year Japan hosted the pageant.
