Miss International 1976, the 16th Miss International pageant, was held on 2 July 1976 at the Imperial Garden Theater in Tokyo, Japan.
At the end of the event, Lidija Manić of Yugoslavia crowned Sophie Perin of France as Miss International 1976. This is France's first ever Miss International crown.

Lidija Vera Manić is a Serbian model and beauty queen who became the first woman from Yugoslavia to win a major international title after being crowned Miss International 1975 in Motobu, Japan.
Miss Universe 2001 was the 50th anniversary of the Miss Universe pageant, held at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez in Bayamón, Puerto Rico on 11 May 2001. The contest was won by Denise Quiñones of Puerto Rico who was crowned by Lara Dutta of India. This was Puerto Rico's fourth win in the history of the pageant.

Eunice Gayson crowned Susana Duijm of Venezuela as the new Miss World. The previous year's Miss World, Antigone Costanda of Egypt, did not attend because of hostilities between Egypt and United Kingdom over Suez Canal. That was the first time Venezuela won the title of Miss World. This was the first time that a winner had been crowned with the crown on her head. Duijm also placed Top 15 in Miss Universe 1955.

The competition was hosted by Jean-Pierre Foucault, Sylvie Tellier, and Miss France 2019 Vaimalama Chaves, with performances by Robbie Williams and Chaves.
