Miss International 1976, the 16th Miss International pageant, was held on 2 July 1976 at the Imperial Garden Theater in Tokyo, Japan.

Contents

At the end of the event, Lidija Manić of Yugoslavia crowned Sophie Perin of France as Miss International 1976. This is France's first ever Miss International crown.

Contestants from 45 countries and territories competed in this year's pageant. The competition was hosted by Bill Graham.

Eunice Gayson crowned Susana Duijm of Venezuela as the new Miss World. The previous year's Miss World, Antigone Costanda of Egypt, did not attend because of hostilities between Egypt and United Kingdom over Suez Canal. That was the first time Venezuela won the title of Miss World. This was the first time that a winner had been crowned with the crown on her head. Duijm also placed Top 15 in Miss Universe 1955.

Miss France 2020 was the 90th edition of the Miss France pageant, held on 14 December 2019 at the Le Dôme de Marseille in Marseille. Vaimalama Chaves of Tahiti crowned her successor Clémence Botino of Guadeloupe by the end of the event. She represented France at Miss Universe 2021, placing in the top 10. The competition was hosted by Jean-Pierre Foucault, Sylvie Tellier, and Miss France 2019 Vaimalama Chaves, with performances by Robbie Williams and Chaves. Footballer Amandine Henry served as the jury president.

Miss Europe 1959 was the 22nd edition of the Miss Europe pageant and the 11th edition under the Mondial Events Organization. It was held in Palermo, Sicily, Italy on September 6, 1959. Christl Spazier of Austria, was crowned Miss Europe 1959 by out going titleholder Johanna "Hanni" Ehrenstrasser of Austria. This was the 4th back to back win in the pageant's history.

Indira Ampiot is a French beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss France 2023. She had previously been crowned Miss Guadeloupe 2022 and Miss Basse-Terre 2022 and is the fourth woman from Guadeloupe to win Miss France. She will represent France at Miss Universe 2024.
