Sophie Sonia Perin (born 1957) of France is the first Miss International winner from her country. [1]

Before her victory in Tokyo, Japan, in 1976, she competed as France's representative in the Miss Universe 1975 in San Salvador, El Salvador, and in the Miss World 1975 in London, United Kingdom. In both pageants, she was unplaced.

Miss World 1975, the 25th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 20 November 1975 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK. 67 contestants took part in the pageant won by Wilnelia Merced of Puerto Rico. She was crowned by Anneline Kriel of South Africa. Runner-up was Germany, Marina Langer, third place was Vicki Harris representing the United Kingdom, fourth place was Maricela Maxie Clark of Cuba, and Yugoslavia's Ladija Verkovska completed the top five.

Miss Universe 1975, the 24th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 19 July 1975 at the National Gymnasium in San Salvador, El Salvador. Anne Marie Pohtamo won the title for Finland, thus making her the second Finnish woman to win the Miss Universe crown after Armi Kuusela, who was the first Miss Universe winner, in 1952. After Spain's Amparo Muñoz resigned the previous year, her successor was crowned by Miss Universe 1972, Kerry Anne Wells of Australia.

Nuestra Belleza Mundo El Salvador was a national Beauty pageant in El Salvador. The winner represented El Salvador at Miss World. Between 2006 - 2015, the winner was given the title of Nuestra Belleza Universo and competed at Miss Universe.

Claudia Patricia Murillo is a Salvadorian model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Nuestra Belleza El Salvador 2014 and represented her country at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant. She was coined as the "Mesoamerican Queen" by her fans due to her alluring Native American physical features, as well as her national costume where she portrayed the Siguanaba mythology. Patricia was born in the town of Juayúa, which means "River of purple orchids", in Native American Pipil language. Although Patricia did not place in Miss Universe, she was a fan favorite, gaining much media attention and is considered one of the most memorable Miss El Salvador and Central American beauty queen in recent history due to her beauty and performance.

Miss World 2015

Miss World 2015, the 65th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 19 December 2015 at the outdoor arena of the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. 114 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her successor Mireia Lalaguna of Spain at the end of the event. It was the first time in the history of Miss World that Spain won the pageant.

Maribel Arrieta

María Isabel Arrieta Gálvez or Maribel Arrieta was a Salvadoran beauty queen where she represented her country at Miss Universe 1955 in Long Beach, California. Arrieta is most known for her strong resemblance to Marilyn Monroe, leading people to dub her as "the Marilyn Monroe of El Salvador". Arrieta ultimately finish as first runner-up, losing to Hillevi Rombin, but not before taking home the title of "Miss Congeniality". She is the first Hispanic woman to become first-runner up in the Miss Universe pageant.

Fátima Idubina Rivas Opico is a Salvadorian model and beauty pageant titleholder who was appointed Miss Universe El Salvador 2015 and the winner of Reinado de El Salvador in 2013. She represented her country at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant.

Miss World 2016

Miss World 2016, the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on December 18, 2016 at the MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States. 117 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. It was the second time where Puerto Rico won Miss World, after Wilnelia Merced in 1975.

Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico crowned her successor Manushi Chhillar of India at the end of the event. She is the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World.

Miss World 2018, the 68th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 8 December 2018 at the Sanya City Arena in Sanya, China. Manushi Chhillar of India crowned her successor Vanessa Ponce of Mexico at the end of the event. She is the first Mexican woman to win Miss World.

Zuleika Soler Aragón is a Salvadoran-American model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Reinado de El Salvador 2019. She represented El Salvador at the Miss Universe 2019.
