Mia Pojatina (born 1995) is a Croatian model and beauty pageant who was crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2018 on 22 April 2018. She represented Croatia at Miss Universe 2018 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand. [1] [2]

Personal life

Pojatina has graduated from Medical Laboratory Diagnosis at the Zagreb University in Healthcare Department. She is a Volleyball player and a pianist for fifteen years.

Pojatina was crowned Miss Universe Croatia 2018 held on 21 April 2018 in Zagreb. She was crowned by last year's winner and Miss Universe 2017 Top 16 Semifinalist Shanaelle Petty. [3] [4]

Miss Universe 2002, the 51st Miss Universe pageant, was held on 29 May 2002 at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 75 delegates competed in this year. Oxana Fedorova of Russia was crowned by Denise Quiñones of Puerto Rico as her successor at the end of the event. Fedorova was dethroned four months later and 1st runner-up Justine Pasek of Panama took over the Miss Universe title.

Miss Universe 1999

Miss Universe 1999, the 48th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 26 May 1999 at the Chaguaramas Convention Centre in Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago. Mpule Kwelagobe of Botswana was crowned by Wendy Fitzwilliam of Trinidad and Tobago at the end of the event. Kwelagobe is currently the most recent Miss Universe winner from any debuting country in the pageant. 1999 is currently the only year that Botswana has both placed in and won Miss Universe. Fitzwilliam’s final walk is also notable, as she walked to her own recording of an original song. 84 contestants competed in this year.

Miss Universe 2008, the 57th Miss Universe pageant, was held on 14 July 2008 at the Crown Convention Center in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela was crowned by Riyo Mori of Japan as her successor at the end of the event. 80 contestants competed in this year which was broadcast and distributed globally via NBC in English and Telemundo in Spanish to TV outlets in more than 180 countries.

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa crowned her successor Catriona Gray of the Philippines at the end of the event.
