Sonia Fergina Citra (born 27 April 1993) is an Indonesian model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Puteri Indonesia 2018. [7] [8] She represented her country at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant held in at IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi Province, north of Bangkok, Thailand. [9] [10] Sonia became the sixth Indonesian, third Sumatran and the second representative of Bangka Belitung [11] to place in the semifinals in Miss Universe history. [12] [9]
Sonia was born in Tanjung Pandan, Bangka Belitung province, to a Chinese Indonesian father Ken Prayoga and British mother, Fransiska Evelin Burtnor. [13] on the province of Bangka Belitung Islands, Indonesia. She is the youngest of her 6 siblings. She does Muay Thai, taekwondo and capoeira. [14] [15]
Sonia started her career as a model in 2005, through the selection of Bangka Belitung Youth Model Faces. [16] Prior to joining pageantry, she worked as a Digital Marketing Manager for a national distributor company in Jakarta. [17] Sonia decided to make a breakthrough to follow her childhood dream, which is to represent her country on an international level through beauty pageant. [18] [19]
Sonia holds a bachelor's degree in English literature from Bina Nusantara University, Jakarta, Indonesia. [4] [5] She is currently finishing her master's degree in business management from PPM School of Management. [6] On 20 November 2021, Sonia married with her boyfriend that she dated for ten years, Yoanes Naftalianto. [13]
Sonia is active in various social causes associated with the organization “Diberi Untuk Memberi” (Accepting for Giving). [20] She helps in providing free food to earthquake victims, school renovation and education assistance. Sonia is also involved in environmental conservation activities related to coral reef adoption at Tanjung Kelayang Beach, Belitung. [21] [22]
Since her crowning, Sonia has advocated for HIV awareness, Breast cancer and Cervical cancer, [10] and also creating mental healing for the children and victims of natural calamities and disaster [23] [24] in Palu and Lombok. [25]
On November 21, 2018, Sonia shared her appearance together with NCCC Indonesia (National Cervical Cancer Coalition of Indonesia) at national congress Duta Kanker Serviks - Jakarta for Indonesia Cervical Cancer Day. [26] She also worked together with local NGO called Nara Creative to create #BeDiverseBeTolerant notebook, filled with her biodiversity family background and how she survived bullying at school. On March 9, 2018, Sonia represented Bangka Belitung province [28] [29] at Puteri Indonesia 2018 contest [8] [30] in which she was crowned the winner. [9] The finale was held in Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Jakarta. She was crowned by the outgoing predecessor of Puteri Indonesia 2017, Bunga Jelitha Ibrani of Jakarta SCR. [31] [7] [23] [24]
The finale coronation night of Puteri Indonesia 2018 was attended by the reigning Miss Universe 2017 – Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa. [32] The runner-ups (also her close friends) were Vania Fitryanti Herlambang (as Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2018) [33] and Wilda Octaviana Situngkir (as Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2018). [34] All three appeared on the magazine cover of Tatler Indonesia together with Mooryati Soedibyo. [35] [36]
On December 17, 2018, Sonia represented Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2018 contest in Bangkok, Thailand, in which she placed in the Top 20, beating 74 contestants from all around the world. [9] [37] She was one of the wildcards for Top 20, and the 18th semifinalist overall to be called (in random order). [38] [39] Sonia is the sixth Indonesian Miss Universe semifinalist in history since Artika Sari Devi (also from Bangka Belitung) first made it to the semifinals in 2005. [18] [40] During the show, Sonia gave a speech in the opening statements, [41] in which the Top 20 semifinalists shared a statement on how they wanted the world to know them as a person. "Being raised with a family from 4 different religions, and seeing there are many cultural differences and also religion intolerance and gender inequality have been the cause of the trouble in Indonesia and also persecution. This inspired me to do a campaign called Be Diverse, Be Tolerant to encourage all the people to embrace the differences and respect for others."
Puteri Indonesia is a national beauty pageant in Indonesia that sends its winners to represent the country at Miss International, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants. Puteri Indonesia is traditionally held in March, alongside the celebration of International Women's Day. The pageant also sends representatives to Miss Supranational and Miss Charm pageant, by giving the Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan and Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata titles to the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.

Ames is going to represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2011 in São Paulo, Brazil, while the first and second runners-up will represent the nation at the Miss International 2011 and the Miss Asia Pacific World 2011 respectively.

Elvira Devinamira Wirayanti is an Indonesian actress, Model, Beauty Pageant titleholder who was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2014, and represented her country at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant held at the FIU Arena at the Florida, United States, where she placed in the "Top 15" and won "Best National Costume" award for the second time for Indonesia, after Agni Pratistha in 2007. She is the third Indonesian and the first Javanese to be called as Miss Universe Finalists.
Puteri Indonesia 2016, the 20th Puteri Indonesia pageant, was held on February 19, 2016 at Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia. Anindya Kusuma Putri, Puteri Indonesia 2015 of Central Java, crowned her successor Kezia Warouw of North Sulawesi at the end of the event. All 39 contestants from 34 provinces competed for the crown. The winner represented Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2016, while the runners-up competed at Miss International 2016, Miss Supranational 2016, and Miss Grand International 2016. Also Miss International 2015 Edymar Martínez of Venezuela attend at the Grand Final Show. It is traditional for Miss Universe to attend on the Final Show of Puteri Indonesia, but Miss Universe 2015 of the Philippines had fashion show scheduled in New York City at the same time, and could not attend. Miss International 2015 replaced her as special guest.
Kezia Roslin Cikita Warouw is an Indonesian National Narcotics Board, TV presenter, model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Puteri Indonesia 2016. She represented Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant, and placed "Top 13", the second highest placement that an Indonesian representative has achieved. She also won "Miss Phoenix Smile" and placed as a Top 10 in Best in National Costume competition at Miss Universe 2016. She is the fifth Indonesian and the first Minahasan to be called as Miss Universe Finalists.

Kezia Warouw, Puteri Indonesia 2016 of North Sulawesi crowned her successor Bunga Jelitha of Jakarta Special Capital Region 5 at the end of the event. All 38 contestants from 33 provinces competed for the crown. The winner will represent Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2017, while the runners-up will compete at the Miss International 2017, Miss Supranational 2017, and Miss Grand International 2017. Miss Universe 2016 Iris Mittenaere of France and Miss Grand International 2016 Ariska Putri Pertiwi of Indonesia attend at the Grand Final Show. Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova of Canada also attended the show as a judge.
Bunga Jelitha Ibrani is an Indonesian actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Supermodel International 2011 and also Puteri Indonesia 2017. She represented Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2017, where she didn't make into the Top 16, but she won "Miss Photogenic" award.

She defeated 38 other candidates to win the title of Miss Universe Indonesia 2018 and represented Indonesia at Miss Universe 2018, where she placed as one of the Top 20 finalists.

Frederika Alexis Cull is an Indonesian-Australian actress, model, activist and beauty pageant titleholder who won the title of Puteri Indonesia 2019 representing DKI Jakarta 1. She represented Indonesia at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant, where she placed in the Top 10. Frederika became the seventh Indonesian, and the first representative of Jakarta SCR to be placed as a finalist in Miss Universe history.

She represented Indonesia at the Miss International 2018 pageant in Japan, where she placed as the Top 15 semi-finalist, continuing the ongoing 3rd year placement streaks of Indonesia, consecutively since Felicia Hwang Yi Xin in 2016 and Kevin Lilliana Junaedy in 2017.
Wilda Octaviana Situngkir also popularly known as Wilda Octaviana is an Indonesian Child Protection Commission Ambassador, Indonesian National Agency of Drug and Food Control Ambassador, actress and model who won the title of Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata 2018. She represented Indonesia at the Miss Supranational 2018 pageant, where she placed as the 3rd runner-up, repeating the same achievement by Cokorda Istri Krisnanda Widani in Miss Supranational 2013, Wilda became the fifth Indonesian to be placed as a finalist in Miss Supranational history, continuing the ongoing 4th year placement streaks of Indonesia, consecutively since Gresya Amanda Maaliwuga in 2015, Intan Aletrinö in 2016 and Karina Nadila Niab in 2017.
