The Miami RedHawks women's basketball team represents Miami University in women's basketball. The school competes in the Mid-American Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Redhawks play home basketball games at Millett Hall in Oxford, Ohio.
As of the 2015–16 season, the Redhawks have a 627–553 record, with a 323–260 record in the Mid-American Conference. Miami has won the Mid-American Conference women's basketball tournament twice, in 1982 and 2008, while finishing as runner-up in 1983, 1990, and 1995. They have won the regular season championship 4 times, the East Division twice, while making one appearance in the NCAA Tournament and three appearances in the Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT). The Louisville Cardinals are the NCAA athletic teams representing the University of Louisville. The Cardinals teams play in the Atlantic Coast Conference, beginning in the 2014 season. While playing in the Big East Conference from 2005 through 2013, the Cardinals captured 17 regular season Big East titles and 33 Big East Tournament titles totaling 50 Big East Championships across all sports. On November 28, 2012, Louisville received and accepted an invitation to join the Atlantic Coast Conference and became a participating member in all sports in 2014. In 2016, Lamar Jackson won the school its first Heisman Trophy.
The Seattle Redhawks — known as the Seattle Chieftains prior to January 2000 — are the intercollegiate varsity athletic teams of Seattle University of Seattle, Washington. Informally and colloquially, they are referred to as Seattle U. They compete in the NCAA's Division I as a member institution of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The Akron Zips men's basketball team represents the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio. The team currently competes in the Mid-American Conference East division. The Zips are currently coached by John Groce. Prior to becoming members of the MAC in 1992, the Zips were members of the Ohio Valley Conference and the Mid-Continent Conference. They had played in NCAA Division II into the mid 1970s, where they reached the National Championship Game twice, both of which they lost.

The Ohio Bobcats men's basketball team is an intercollegiate varsity sports program of Ohio University. The team is a member of the Mid-American Conference competing in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Bobcats have played their home games in the Convocation Center since 1968.
The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks are the athletic teams of Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, United States. The Kent State Golden Flashes softball team is an intercollegiate athletic team at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio, United States. Tracy Smith is an American baseball coach and former player, who is the current head baseball coach of the Michigan Wolverines. He played college baseball at Miami (OH) from 1985 to 1988 for head coach Jon Pavlisko, before pursuing a professional career from 1988 to 1990. He then served as the head coach of the Miami RedHawks (1997–2005), the Indiana Hoosiers (2006–2014) and the Arizona State Sun Devils (2015–2021).

The Troy Trojans are the sports teams of Troy University. They began playing in the NCAA's Division I-A in 2001, became a football only member of the Sun Belt Conference in 2004, and joined that conference for all other sports in 2005. They finished the season 11–21, 4–14 in MAC play to finish in last place. As the No. 12 seed in the MAC tournament, they lost in the first round to Western Michigan.

The 2018–19 Miami RedHawks men's basketball team represented Miami University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The RedHawks, led by second-year head coach Jack Owens, played their home games at Millett Hall, as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 15–17 overall, 7–11 in MAC play to finish in fifth place in the East Division. As the No. 9 seed in the MAC tournament, they were defeated in the first round by Akron.
