Michael John Warden (born 9 November 1967) is a former Australian first-class cricketer.
Born at Herston in Brisbane,Warden played country cricket for Queensland from 1990 to 1995, [1] later earning a place on the Australian Country Cricket Hall of Fame. [2] During the Australian winter,Warden played club cricket in England for Stand in the Central Lancashire Cricket League from 1993–1998. [3] While in England in 1999,Warden played a single first-class cricket match for the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) against Sri Lanka A at Shenley. [4] In the Sri Lanka A first-innings,he took the wicket of Tillakaratne Dilshan. He wasn't called upon to bat in the MCC first-innings,but did bat in their second-innings,scoring 2 runs before he was dismissed leg before by Ravindra Pushpakumara. [5]
Kumar Chokshanada Sangakkara is a Sri Lankan former professional cricketer who represented Sri Lanka from 2000 to 2015. A former captain in all formats. He was born in Matale,Central Province. In first-class cricket,he played for Nondescripts Cricket Club from 1997–98 to 2013–14 and for Surrey County Cricket Club from 2015 to 2017. Sangakkara is widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time. He was a key part of the Sri Lankan squads which won the 2001-02 Asian Test Championship,2002 ICC Champions Trophy and 2014 T20 World Cup.
Arnold James Fothergill was an English professional cricketer who played first-class cricket for Somerset County Cricket Club and the MCC in a career which spanned from 1870 until 1892. A left-arm fast-medium pace bowler,he appeared for England in two Test matches in 1889.
Maurius Pacheco Fernandes,known as Maurice Fernandes,was a West Indian Test cricketer who played first-class cricket for British Guiana between 1922 and 1932. He made two Test appearances for the West Indies,in 1928 and 1930. Fernandes played as a right-handed top-order batsman and occasional wicket-keeper. He scored 2,087 first-class runs in 46 appearances at an average of 28.20.

A cricket team representing England toured Australia in the 1932–33 season. The tour was organised by the Marylebone Cricket Club and matches outside the Tests were played under the MCC name. The tour included five Test matches in Australia,and England won The Ashes by four games to one. The tour was highly controversial because of the bodyline bowling tactics used by the England team under the captaincy of Douglas Jardine. After the Australian tour was over,the MCC team moved on to play in New Zealand,where two further Test matches were played.

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field,at the centre of which is a 22-yard pitch with a wicket at each end,each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Deshabandu Pinnaduwage Aravinda de Silva is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and captain,Regarded as one of the best Sri Lankan cricketers,he played in the team as an all-rounder. De Silva was a key member of the Sri Lankan team that won 1996 Cricket World Cup,where he scored a match winning century in the final,that brought Sri Lanka from underdog status to present-day form. He has held various posts in Sri Lankan Cricket after his retirement in 2003. He was inducted into ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2023.

Jacob Timothy Ball is an English cricketer. Ball is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium pace. He was born in Mansfield,Nottinghamshire,England and educated at the Meden School in Market Warsop. On 14 July 2016 he made his Test debut for England against Pakistan. His uncle,Bruce French,also played Test cricket for England and was chosen to present Ball with his England cap before his Test debut in July 2016.
Somerset County Cricket Club made their debut in first-class cricket in the 1882 English cricket season. They were captained by Stephen Newton,and played eight first-class matches,five against county opposition,two against the Marylebone Cricket Club and one against the touring Australian team. They only won one of the eight contests,that against Hampshire at Taunton. Of the other matches,one was drawn and the other six were all losses for Somerset. Wisden Cricketers' Almanack described the season as "disastrous",but the publication qualified this statement with mild optimism for 1883.
A cricket team from England,organised by the Marylebone Cricket Club,toured India and Sri Lanka in the 1976-77 cricket season. They played five Test matches against the India national cricket team,with England winning three matches,India winning one and the other one being drawn. The MCC team played four matches in Sri Lanka after leaving India,but Sri Lanka was not yet a Test-class team.
