Michaela Gosselin (born January 31, 2001) is a Canadian para alpine skier who competed at the 2022 Winter Paralympics. Michaela is a current member of the Canadian Para Alpine Ski Team.

Career

Gosselin made her debut at the 2021 World Para Snow Sports Championships held in Lillehammer, Norway where she won the bronze medal in the slalom event. [1] She qualified to compete at the 2022 Winter Paralympics held in Beijing, China. [2]

Czech Republic sent competitors to the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The sportspeople are competing two sports: para-alpine skiing and sledge hockey. There were 24 sportspeople, 16 support people and 4 administrators. First allocated four sports in para-alpine skiing, the country won two more spots and are sending six skiers. The sledge hockey team goes to South Korea after qualifying at a tournament in Sweden. They had financial difficulties before the Winter Paralympics because of corruption in sports funding. This made it more difficult to train and compete for the 2018 Games.

Alana Ramsay is a Canadian paralympic alpine skier, born in Calgary, Alberta. Ramsay, who was born with cerebral palsy due to a stroke at birth, started skiing at age 6. On the Para-Alpine World Cup circuit in 2015/16, she landed her first podium. In both 2016 and 2017, Ramsay was named Canadian Ski Racing Female Para Alpine Athlete of the Year. Ramsay has competed in 3 Paralympic games thus far, she won bronze medals at the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Paralympics in both the super-G and super combined events. In the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics, Ramsay won two more bronze medals, in the super combined standing and super-G standing events.

Martha Hill is an American para-alpine skier. She represented the United States at the 1984 Winter Paralympics and at the 1988 Winter Paralympics in alpine skiing.
