Mecano was a Spanish pop band formed in 1981 and active until 1992. Mecano became one of the most successful Spanish pop bands of all time. The band is still the best-selling Spanish band, with over 20 million records worldwide. They were considered by some to be avant-garde for their time and part of la Movida Madrileña countercultural movement. They had a brief comeback in 1998.
Los Planetas is a Spanish indie rock group from the city of Granada which started out in the second half of the 1990s and continue now through the 2000s. The group's first hit was "Qué puedo hacer" from their album "Super 8", although they had previously had some success with various demos on a contest run by Spanish national public radio station Radio 3.
Sui Generis is one of the most influential rock bands in Argentine history, enjoying enormous success and popularity during the first half of the 1970s and a following that lasts to the present throughout South America. Its youthful songs, classical at sing-along gatherings, became hymns for successive generations of Argentines and are part of the national cultural landscape. Charly Garcia was author of most ot the songs and arrangements, which went from the simple folk style guitar, piano and flute of their greatest hits in the first and second album, to the more developed symphonic/prog rock of their last concept album. Sui Generis disbanded on September 5, 1975, in a mythical concert which was turned into a popular record and film, and, despite concerts that took place in 1980 and 2001, a permanent re-formation has been ruled out.

Pereza was a Spanish rock group from Alameda de Osuna (Madrid) comprising Rubén Pozo Prats and José Miguel Conejo Torres, artistically known as Rubén and Leiva. They have recorded six albums Pereza, Algo para cantar, Animales (Animals), Los amigos de los animales, Aproximaciones (Approximations) released in the summer of 2007, Aviones (Aeroplanes), released in August 2009, and a last compilation that includes two previously unreleased discs: “Mama Quiero Ser una Estrella del Rock'n’Roll” and “Baires”, recorded and mixed in Argentina. The group has also released two DVDs. The first was called Algo para encantar and it contains videos from their previous album Algo para cantar and some live tracks. The second DVD is called Barcelona, which is a recording of a live concert in that city along with a CD called Rarezas (Rarities), which contains previously unreleased tracks from the band's early days.
Astrud is a Spanish pop-rock group from the city of Barcelona which formed in the second half of the 1990s. Composed of Manolo Martínez and Genís Segarra, they have met with a degree of critical and commercial success within the Spanish indie music scene. In 2006 they released a collection of rarities and B-sides called Algo cambió, which includes a Spanish-language cover version of the Pulp song of the same name.
Miguel Ángel Mateos Sorrentino is an Argentine rock singer-songwriter from Villa Pueyrredón, Argentina. Outside Argentina he is considered one of the most important exponents of Rock en Español, specially in the 1980s when he along with Charly Garcia, Soda Stereo, Enanitos Verdes, Virus, Sumo, Fabulosos Cadillacs, Rata Blanca, and many more bands became international stars in the so-called "Argentinian Invasion" of rock music that swept Latin America and parts of North America and Europe. It helped popularize Spanish-language rock outside Argentina, and make the genre a commercially successful industry.

The song was written by the band's lead vocalist Fher Olvera, who handled the production alongside drummer Alex González and Benny Faccone. It was released as the album's lead single on 5 September 1997. A reggae rock "heartbreak" song, the protagonist is depicted as stuck in a bar waiting for his lover to return.

He has been part of musical fusion bands and mixed groups of music and dance. His musical influences come from the Middle East, the Balkans and the Latin Europe. His main instruments are: guitar, baglama, lute, piano, accordion and darbuka. In each of his compositions he proposes "the blending of traditional and local cultures into a new world culture that represent human beings as free individuals".
Tex La Homa is a Dorset, UK-based post-rock project formed in the year 2000 by Matthew Shaw. The music combines "soft vocals with sort of distortion, surrounded by soft melodies, guitars and a bit of electronics to create almost pop-like modern ballads".

She won a Martín Fierro Award as Best Comic Actress for her television work on La hermana San Sulpicio; participated in the film Pajarito Gómez which won the Best Youth Film award at the 15th Berlin International Film Festival; won a Konex Foundation Award; and was honored by the Argentina Actors Association in 2004 for her career contributions.
