Para-athletics is the sport of athletics practised by people with a disability as a parasport. The athletics events within the parasport are mostly the same as those available to able-bodied people, with two major exceptions in wheelchair racing and the club throw, which are specific to the division. The sport is known by various names, including disability athletics, disabled track and field and Paralympic athletics. Top-level competitors may be called elite athletes with disability.

In 2013 Davies took the World Championship gold in both the shot put and discus in Lyon. He won double gold in his home country at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in the shot put and discus. Jayden Sawyer is an Australian para athlete who competes mainly in the F38 category in throwing events. He won has won gold and bronze medals at the World Para Athletics Championships. He competed at the 2016 Rio and 2020 Tokyo Summer Paralympics.
The 2016 IPC Athletics European Championships was a track and field competition for athletes with a disability open to International Paralympic Committee (IPC) affiliated countries within Europe, plus Israel. It was held in Grosseto, Italy and took part between 10 and 16 June. The competition was staged at Stadio Olimpico Carlo Zecchini. Approximately 700 athletes from 35 countries attended the games. This was the last edition of the event held under the IPC Athletics title.
Robert Jachimowicz is a Paralympian athlete from Poland competing in category F53 throwing events. He has competed at one Summer Paralympics, in Sydney 2000 and at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha he won the silver medal in the discus throw.
Nicole Harris is an Australian Paralympic athlete with intellectual disability and mild cerebral palsy. She represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics in athletics.
Sabrina Fortune is a British Paralympic track and field athlete from Wales competing in category F20 throwing events. Fortune won a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in the shot put and a gold medal at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships, also in shot put.
Sümeyye Özcan is a Turkish female middle distance runner and goalball player in the B1 class. She is a member of the national team.
Ruzhdi Ruzhdi is a Bulgarian Paralympian track and field athlete, competing in throwing events: javelin throw, shot put, and discus throw. He represented Bulgaria at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, winning the gold medal in shot put in class F55, and setting a new world record of 12.33 metres (40.5 ft).
Zübeyde Süpürgeci is a Turkish Paralympian athlete competing in the T54 disability class events of 100m, 400m and 800m as well as T53/T54 class 4 × 400 m relay event.

Lech Stoltman is a Polish Paralympic athlete competing in F55-classification shot put events. He represented Poland at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and he won the bronze medal in the men's shot put F55 event. He also won the bronze medal in this event at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan.
Oney Tapia is a visually impaired Italian-Cuban Paralympic athlete competing in discus throw and shot put events. He represented Italy at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and he won the silver medal in the men's discus throw F11 event. He represented Italy at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in the discus throw and shot put events, winning two bronze medals.
Dimitrios Senikidis is a Greek Paralympic athlete with an intellectual disability competing in shot put events. He represented Greece at the 2016 Summer Paralympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and he won the silver medal in the men's shot put F20 event.
