Michael Lee (born October 5, 1990) is an American former professional ice hockey goaltender who most notably split time between the Portland Pirates of the American Hockey League (AHL) and the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL as a prospect in the National Hockey League's Arizona Coyotes system. [1] He was drafted in the third round (91st overall) by the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. [2] Lee was born in Fargo, North Dakota, but grew up in Roseau, Minnesota. He is currently an Assistant Coach at St Cloud State.
Prior to attending St. Cloud State, Lee was the goaltender for the Fargo Force of the USHL in 2008-9. [3] [4] [5] Despite being an expansion team, Lee led the Force to the USHL playoff finals. [5] As a high school goaltender, Lee helped the Roseau Rams to the Minnesota state hockey championship. [6] [7]
Lee was the first American goalie selected in the 2009 draft. [3] He also played on the gold-medal winning USA team at the 2010 IIHF World Juniors. [4] Lee started for Team USA in the gold medal game, but was relieved by Jack Campbell in the second period. [8] [9] When the Coyotes traded away backup goalie Devan Dubnyk, Lee was called up to be Mike Smith's new backup, putting Lee in the NHL for the first time. However, he was sent down in favor of Mike McKenna before entering a game.

David Aebischer is a Swiss former professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League with the Colorado Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens and the Phoenix Coyotes. He was a member of the 2001 Stanley Cup champion Avalanche team, becoming the first Swiss native to achieve the feat. Aebischer also played several seasons in his native Switzerland with HC Fribourg-Gottéron, HC Lugano and the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers of the National League (NL).
Roberto Luongo is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played 19 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, and Vancouver Canucks. In 2022, Luongo was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Luongo is a two-time NHL All-Star and winner of the William M. Jennings Trophy for backstopping his team to the lowest goals against average in the league. He was a finalist for several awards, including the Vezina Trophy as the league's best goaltender, the Lester B. Pearson Award as the top player voted by his peers, and the Hart Memorial Trophy as the league's most valuable player (2007). Luongo is second all time in games played as an NHL goaltender (1,044) and fourth all time in wins (489). He employed the butterfly style of goaltending.
Nikolai Alexandrovich Khabibulin is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender. Known by the nickname "The Bulin Wall", he spent the majority of his playing career in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, Chicago Blackhawks, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Edmonton Oilers.
Alexander James Auld is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Dean Charles Blais is an American ice hockey coach. He was the head coach of the University of North Dakota men's hockey team, head coach of the Omaha Mavericks, the men's team of the University of Nebraska Omaha, and also head coach of the United States men's national junior ice hockey team. He led Team USA to a gold medal in the IIHF 2010 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Saskatoon, Canada, held in late December 2009 through early January 2010.
Mike Smith is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Smith played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning, Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, and the Edmonton Oilers. Smith is the 11th goaltender in NHL history to score a goal, which he did in the 2013–14 season against the Detroit Red Wings. A two-time NHL All-Star, he was named to the 2014 Canadian Olympic Hockey Team, winning a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
