Southern Rhodesia was a landlocked self-governing British Crown colony in southern Africa,established in 1923 and consisting of British South Africa Company (BSAC) territories lying south of the Zambezi River. The region was informally known as south Zambesia until annexed by Britain at the behest of Cecil Rhodes's British South Africa Company,for whom the colony was named. The bounding territories were Bechuanaland (Botswana),Northern Rhodesia (Zambia),Portuguese Mozambique (Mozambique),and the Transvaal Republic.

He served as the third Executive Secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC). Salomão was appointed at the 2005 Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Southern African Development Community in Gaborone,Botswana. He earned his doctorate at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore,Maryland,United States.
Lovemore Moyo is a Zimbabwean politician who was Speaker of the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe from 2008 to 2013. He was the National Chairman of the Movement for Democratic Change –Tsvangirai (MDC-T) party led by Morgan Tsvangirai from 2006 to 2018.
Misheck Kagurabadza was a businessman and former mayor of Mutare,Zimbabwe,and was the MDC-Tsvangirai member of the house of assembly (MP) for the parliamentary constituency of Mutasa South. He died in 2015 after a short illness.
Lieutenant Colonel Boniface Guwa Chidyausiku is a Zimbabwean diplomat who served as Zimbabwe's Ambassador to Russia from 2011 to 2015. Chidyausiku participated in the Zimbabwe Liberation War as a member of ZANLA from 1975 to 1980,which led to the attainment of National Independence and multiracial democracy. He was attested and commissioned with the rank of Lt Colonel in the Zimbabwe National Army. He went back to college in 1982 and obtained a BA History [Honours] Degree,and a Master of Science Degree in International Relations from the University of Zimbabwe.

The 2008–2009 Zimbabwean political negotiations between the opposition Movement for Democratic Change,its small splinter group,the Movement for Democratic Change –Mutambara,and the ruling Zimbabwe African National Union –Patriotic Front were intended to negotiate an end to the partisan violence and human rights violations in Zimbabwe and create a framework for a power-sharing executive government between the two parties. These negotiations followed the 2008 presidential election,in which Mugabe was controversially re-elected,as well as the 2008 parliamentary election,in which the MDC won a majority in the House of Assembly.
