Mike Yurcich (born November 5, 1975) is an American football coach who most recently served as offensive coordinator at Penn State. [1] Prior to going to Penn State, he was the offensive coordinator at the University of Texas at Austin in 2020. He was the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the Ohio State University for the 2019 season. [2] Yurcich was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State University from 2013 to 2018. [3] He was previously the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Saint Francis, Edinboro, and Shippensburg. Yurcich also spent time at Indiana as a graduate assistant.
Some of the prominent players Yurcich has helped develop include Trevor Harris, Zach Zulli, J. W. Walsh, Mason Rudolph, Taylor Cornelius, Justin Fields, Sam Ehlinger, Sean Clifford, and Drew Allar.
Yurcich earned a degree in psychology at California University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in education from St. Francis, where he picked up a school counseling license. [4]
Yurcich is a 1999 graduate of California University in Pennsylvania. He spent three seasons as the school's starting quarterback and was a two-year captain. He began his playing career at Mount Union College. [5]
Mike Yurcich was named Penn State's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach on January 8, 2021. Yurcich (YER-sitch), has 22 years of collegiate coaching experience, including 15 as an offensive coordinator, joins the Nittany Lions after spending the 2020 season at Texas as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In his career as an FBS offensive coordinator, Yurcich's offenses have averaged 6.49 yards per play, which ranks first among OC's since 2013 and 14.03 yards per completion, which is first among Power Five OC's in that timeframe. Since 2013, Yurcich's offenses have scored 50 or more points 26 times and 40 or more points 51 times (50 percent of games coached), both of which are tops among FBS offensive coordinators since 2013. His teams average 61.5 touchdowns per year. [6] In November 2023, after a loss to the University of Michigan, Yurcich was fired as Penn State's Offensive Coordinator. Yurcich was in his third season with the program. [7]
Kliff Timothy Kingsbury is an American professional football coach and former quarterback who is the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, finishing in the top three in several school passing records before being selected in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL draft by the New England Patriots. He was a member of several other NFL and CFL teams before entering coaching in 2008.
John Shoop is an American football coach and former quarterback, who is the current head coach of the Munich Ravens in the European League of Football (ELF). He played college football at Sewanee. He has coached in the National Football League (NFL) and at the collegiate level.
Shane Montgomery is an American college football coach and former player. He is an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the University of Massachusetts Amherst, positions he has held since 2024. He was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University at Buffalo. Montgomery served as the head football coach at Miami University from 2005 to 2008, compiling a record of 17–31.

Kevin Reece Wilson is an American football coach and former player who is the head coach at the University of Tulsa. He was the offensive coordinator at Ohio State University from 2017 to 2022. Frank Cignetti Jr. is an American football coach who was most recently the offensive coordinator for the Pittsburgh Panthers. Before Pitt, he was the offensive coordinator at Boston College and the quarterbacks coach for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He has also been the quarterbacks coach for the New York Giants in 2016 and 2017. Prior to that, he served as the quarterbacks coach for the St. Louis Rams from 2012 to 2014 and offensive coordinator for the Rams in 2015.
Arthur Gustavo Malzahn III is an American football coach. He is currently the head coach at the University of Central Florida (UCF). He was the head football coach at Auburn University from 2013 to 2020. He helped lead the 2010 Auburn Tigers to a national championship. As head coach at Auburn, he led the team to a SEC Championship win and an appearance in the 2014 national championship. Malzahn has coached Heisman winner Cam Newton and two Heisman finalists: Nick Marshall and Tre Mason, including coaching 14 All-Americans. During Malzahn's tenure at Auburn, he was the second-longest tenured head coach at one school in the SEC, behind Nick Saban. Out of active head coaches, Malzahn also holds the best record against Coach Saban.
Graham Stanton Harrell is an American football coach and former quarterback who most recently was the offensive coordinator for the Purdue Boilermakers. He played college football for Texas Tech Red Raiders from 2004 to 2008. He played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the National Football League (NFL) from 2009 to 2013, with his longest tenure as a player with the Green Bay Packers. He served as the offensive coordinator of the North Texas Mean Green (2016–2018), USC Trojans (2019–2021) and the West Virginia Mountaineers (2022).
William James O'Brien, nicknamed "the Teapot", is an American football coach who is currently the head coach at Boston College. Previously, he was the head coach of the Houston Texans from 2014 to 2020, and at Penn State from 2012 to 2013. Prior to Boston College, O'Brien was the offensive coordinator at the University of Alabama and for the New England Patriots. After the Patriots parted ways with longtime head coach Bill Belichick at the end of the 2023 season, O'Brien was not retained by the team.
Kevin Warren Sumlin is an American football coach who is the associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator, and tight ends coach for the University of Maryland. Sumlin served as the head football coach at the University of Houston from 2008 to 2011, Texas A&M University from 2012 to 2017, and at the University of Arizona from 2018 to 2020.
Tony Franklin is an American football coach, most recently serving as the offensive coordinator for the Army Black Knights sprint football team. Matthew Scribner Wells is an American college football coach and former quarterback. He is the associate head coach, co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Kansas State University. Wells previously served as offensive coordinator and then head coach at Utah State University, where he was named Mountain West Conference coach of the year in 2013 and 2018. Wells was named head football coach at Texas Tech University on November 29, 2018, and led the team until his firing midway through the 2021 season. He also served as an offensive analyst at the University of Oklahoma under head coach Brent Venables during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
Marcus David Satterfield is an American football coach and former player. He is the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. Satterfield served as the head football coach at Tennessee Tech University from 2016 to 2017. He was the offensive coordinator at the University of Tennessee at Martin (2006–2008), the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (2009–2012), and Temple University (2013–2014). He was an assistant coach at Richmond during the 2004 season and Western Carolina in 2005. Satterfield played college football at East Tennessee State University.
The 2016 TaxSlayer Bowl was a post-season American college football bowl game played on January 2, 2016, at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The 71st edition of the Gator Bowl featured the Penn State Nittany Lions of the Big Ten Conference against the Georgia Bulldogs of the Southeastern Conference. It began at noon EST and aired on ESPN. It was one of the 2015–16 bowl games that concluded the 2015 FBS football season. The game's naming rights sponsor was tax preparation software company TaxSlayer.com, and for sponsorship reasons was officially known as the TaxSlayer Bowl.
The 2017 Ohio State Buckeyes football team represented Ohio State University during the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Andy Kotelnicki is an American football coach who is the offensive coordinator at Pennsylvania State University. He previously served as the offensive coordinator at the University of Kansas from 2021 to 2023. Kotelnicki played college football at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls as a center before entering coaching.
