Mikes Creek

Mikes Creek is a stream in Barry and McDonald counties of the Ozarks of southwestern Missouri. [1]

The headwaters are in western Barry County at 36°43′22″N94°03′28″W / 36.72278°N 94.05778°W / 36.72278; -94.05778 and the confluence with Big Sugar Creek is in McDonald County at 36°37′27″N94°11′12″W / 36.62417°N 94.18667°W / 36.62417; -94.18667 . [1] The source of the stream is in western Barry County to the southeast of Rocky Comfort in northeast McDonald County. The stream flows southwest paralleling Missouri Route U then turns west to its confluence just northwest of Powell. [2]

Some say Mike's Creek was named after an elderly settler named Mike, while others believe the name is a corruption of Michael, the surname of Phillip Michael, a pioneer citizen. [3]

Pogue Creek or Pogues Creek is a small stream in west-central Barry County, Missouri. Pogue Creek starts just south of Butterfield and it flows west under Missouri Route 37 and on past Burtonville to join Shoal Creek east of Wheaton.

Trent Creek is a stream in Barry and McDonald counties the Ozarks of southwest Missouri.

Greasy Creek is a stream in Dallas and Webster counties the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. It is a tributary of the Niangua River.

Buffalo Creek is a stream in McDonald and Newton counties in Missouri and Delaware County, Oklahoma. It is a tributary of the Elk River.
