Chennai Times rated the album of 3.5/5 and said, "Mikkin Aruldev has given listeners a slice of everything for Poovarasam Peepee. He has kept the album simple with likable tunes, yet he keeps the theme of the film intact". [3] MilliBlog said, "Mikkin Aruldev finally arrives, putting behind his limited, non-descript repertoire". The movie was released on 30 May 2014 with a positive reviews from critics. BehindWoods.com rated the movie 3/5 [5] and praised Mikkin Aruldev for his songs. FoundPix rated the movie as 8.6 and said the "songs are fantastic and unique. Mikkin Aruldev’s background music deserves a special mention".[ citation needed ] The film was selected for Chennai International Film Festival 2014. [6]

Abdul Haliq is an Indian composer and playback singer, who continues to use his birth name professionally. He mainly scores music for Tamil films along with few Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi films. Considered a versatile composer, he is particularly known for his use of Western music elements and often credited with having introduced hip hop to the Tamil film and music industry and started the "era of remixes" in Tamil Nadu which included mixed EDM and jazz. Amar Choudary, known professionally as Jiiva, is an Indian actor and film producer who works mainly in Tamil cinema and a few Hindi and Malayalam films. He is the youngest son of film producer R. B. Neethaane En Ponvasantham is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film co written, co produced and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring Jiiva and Samantha. This film is shot simultaneously in Telugu, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, with Nani replacing Jiiva, while the team also briefly filmed an incomplete Hindi version with Aditya Roy Kapoor, with Samantha playing the leading female role in all three versions. The film is based on a story written by Reshma Ghatala, who produced the film alongside Elred Kumar, Venkat Somasundaram and Menon. The cinematography was handled by M. S. Prabhu and Om Prakash.
