Ming & Ping are an Asian American electronic pop band from Los Angeles, California. The group consists of Hong Kong born identical twin brothers Ming and Ping (last names unknown) and their producer/creative director Bao Vo.

The band was formed in 2002 in San Francisco, California and released their first full-length album in 2004 entitled mingping.com with Chicago-based indie record label Omega Point Records. The brothers have stated in numerous interviews that they are heavily influenced by 80s new wave bands such as Pet Shop Boys and New Order, and their 2007 album Causeway Army appeared in XLR8R magazine's March 2008 top ten, where it was described as "full of high-energy electro pop that works just as well in a Prada boutique as it would a gritty nightclub in London." Ming & Ping has gained a following largely from their songs appearing in snowboarding films [2] and other sports film, television, and promotional spots from major companies like Burton Snowboards, Bombardier Ski-Doo, Transworld Snowboarding, Oakley, CrossFit, Alliance Wakeboard, among others.
The group is also known for their visual art, costumes, and theatrical live performances [3] that are primarily directed by artist Bao Vo, whose collaboration with other artists has yielded a large portfolio of photography, illustrations, videos, and costumes that is uncommon for independent musical acts. Vo is also responsible for assembling the brothers as a musical act and the supporting cast for their Cantonese Opera inspired live performances [2] [4] known as "The Ming & Ping Dynasty." These performances have been exhibited on tour with Freezepop and with groups such as Major Lazer, West Indian Girl, and Ultraviolet Sound. West Indian Girl and How to Destroy Angels vocalist Mariqueen Maandig Reznor has appeared as a guest vocalist on two Ming & Ping songs, "Mixed Melodies" from their eponymous 2009 album and "Chinatown" from 2012's The Darkness of Night.
Ming & Ping notably employ mobile apps to aid in both the composition and distribution of their music. In 2009 they released an iPhone application entitled Ming & Ping Pong, a version of the game Pong featuring their music and visual aesthetic, [5] and they make use of the Sonoma Wire Works application FourTrack and Retronyms' DopplerPad to begin work on new songs. Interest in the group is aided by rumors that both twins are in fact the same performer. However, due to their rare public appearances, these rumors remain unconfirmed. [7]
Information Society is an American electronic band from Minneapolis–St. Paul, Minnesota, initially active from 1982 to 1997, primarily consisting of Kurt Harland Larson, Paul Robb, and James Cassidy; the latter two reconvened the band in 2006, initially with Christopher Anton as lead vocalist, then with Harland rejoining them as lead vocalist by 2008.

Freezepop is an American electronic band from Boston, Massachusetts, United States, formed in 1999 by Liz Enthusiasm, Sean T. Drinkwater, and The Duke of Pannekoeken. Since December 2009, the current lineup includes Enthusiasm, Drinkwater, Robert John "Bananas" Foster, and Christmas Disco-Marie Sagan. The band is named after the frozen snack, and they have described their music as "sweet and cold and fruity and plastic-y".

Junior Boys are a Canadian electronic pop group, founded in 1999 in Hamilton, Ontario by Jeremy Greenspan and Johnny Dark. Dark left the project shortly after, and was replaced by engineer Matt Didemus. The duo initially gained critical praise for their 2003 single "Birthday" and 2004 debut album Last Exit. Their work incorporates disparate influences from 1980s synthpop, UK garage, techno, and R&B.
Splashdown was an American pop rock band formed in 1996 in Allston, Massachusetts. The group disbanded in 2001; their last show was at the release party for the debut CD of Freezepop on February 2 of that year. Their last release was the single Metamorphosis, which was put on streaming services and digital sale platforms on November 21, 2023.
Jahcoozi is a German electronic music group made up of London-born, Sri Lankan-heritage songwriter and frontwoman Sasha Perera and two producers and instrumentalists, Robot Koch and Tel Aviv-born Oren Gerlitz. The band met and formed in Berlin in 2002 and have released three albums.
The Ping Pong Bitches is an all female electroclash band from London, England, who formed in 2000. Fronted by Emily Hell, Mandy Wong and Louise Prey, they released their self-titled debut EP in 2000 on Alan McGee's Poptones label. It featured former Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones and Roxy Music's Phil Manzanera on guitars.
