The Minister for Nordic Cooperation (Danish : Minister for Nordisk Samarbejde; prev. Minister for Nordic Affairs (Danish : Minister for Nordiske Anliggender) is a cabinet minister within the Danish Government appointed by the Prime Minister of Denmark.

The minister is responsible for issues regarding Nordic affairs, trade and development. The current Minister for Nordic Cooperation is Louise Schack Elholm, appointed on 15 December 2022.

The politics of Greenland, an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark, function in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic dependency, whereby the prime minister is the head of government, and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament Inatsisartut. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature. Greenland has full autonomy on most matters, except on policies and decisions affecting the region including negotiations with the devolved legislatures and the Folketing.

Being part of the Kingdom of Denmark, the foreign relations of Greenland are handled in cooperation with the Danish government and the Government of Greenland.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Nordic Council</span> Body for cooperation of Nordic countries

The Nordic Council is the official body for formal inter-parliamentary Nordic cooperation among the Nordic countries. Formed in 1952, it has 87 representatives from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden as well as from the autonomous areas of the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland. The representatives are members of parliament in their respective countries or areas and are elected by those parliaments. The Council holds ordinary sessions each year in October/November and usually one extra session per year with a specific theme. The council's official languages are Danish, Finnish, Icelandic, Norwegian, and Swedish, though it uses only the mutually intelligible Scandinavian languages—Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish—as its working languages. These three comprise the first language of around 80% of the region's population and are learned as a second or foreign language by the remaining 20%.

Mogens Jensen is a Danish politician, who is a member of the Folketing for the Social Democrats political party. He served as the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, Minister for Gender Equality, and Minister for Nordic Cooperation from 2019 to November 2020, when he was forced to resign following a botched handling of Cluster 5 resulting in an order to cull the mink population during the COVID-19 pandemic in Denmark.

Vittus Qujaukitsoq is a Greenlandic politician. Qujaukitsoq was appointed as Minister of Finance and Interior of Aleqa Hammond cabinet from May 2013 to November 2014. After November 2014 to 2017 Qujaukitsoq was Minister of Industry, Labour, Trade and Foreign Affairs of Kim Kielsen cabinet. After disagreements on complaint to United Nations for environmental restoration of former U.S. Military installations in Greenland. He was previously a member of Siumut, and served as Minister of Industry, Labour, Trade and Foreign Affairs, caretaker as Minister of Finance and Foreign Affairs on two occasions during 2014-2017 in the Kielsen government.

Flemming Møller Mortensen is a Danish politician of the Social Democrats who has been serving as a member of the Folketing since the 2007 elections. He is currently serving as Minister for Development and Nordic Cooperation in the government of Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

Dorte Marianne Bennedsen was a Danish theologian and politician of the Social Democrats. She served as the Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs between October 1971 and December 1973 and was the Minister of Education from January 1979 to September 1982. Bennedsen was Holmen Church's auxiliary pastor from 1965 to 1968 and was chair of the Danish Association for Nordic Collaboration between 1984 and 1999. She was a member of the Folketing from January 1975 until she stood down in November 2001.
