The Ministry of Industry and Trade is a government ministry of Tanzania. Its offices are located in Dar es Salaam. [1] The Minister is Kitila Mkumbo. [2]
The Ministry was previously renamed to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment under John Magufuli, seemingly absorbing the investment role previously undertaken by the Prime Minister's Office for Investment and Empowerment. In January 2019, the Prime Minister's office reabsorbed the responsibility for investments with the appointment of Angellah Jasmine Kairuki [3] to the new role. Following this, the Ministry renamed back to Industry and Trade.

The Magufuli Cabinet was formed by President of Tanzania John Magufuli after taking the oath of office on 5 November 2015. Magufuli won the 2015 general election with 58% of the vote in a tightly contested race against ex-CCM Chadema rival Edward Lowassa. After being sworn in on 5 November 2015, Magufuli announced his cabinet almost a month later, on 10 December 2015. He reduced the cabinet to 19 ministers from 30 in the previous cabinet. The Second Cabinet's tenure was cut short on 19 March 2021, following the death of President John Magufuli, and the swearing-in of Samia Suluhu Hassan as the new president.

Adolf Faustine Mkenda, is a Tanzanian Minister of Education, Science and Technology, having previously served as Minister of Agriculture. An associate professor of Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam and a politician who presently serve as a Chama Cha Mapinduzi's Member of Parliament for Rombo constituency since November 2020.
Geoffrey Mwambe is a Tanzanian CCM politician and a cabinet member. He is an elected MP for MASASI Urban in Mtwara region and was appointed by Tanzanian President John Magufuli in 2020 to serve as the Minister of Industry and Trade in December 2020. He was appointed as the head of the Tanzania Investment Center on 17th May 2017 before being elected a Member of Parliament for MASASI Urban and appointed in the cabinet after the 2020 Tanzanian general election. He continues to represent his people in MASASI Urban as their MP.
The Suluhu Cabinet was officially formed in Tanzania on 31 March 2021. Following the death of former president John Magufuli, Samia Suluhu Hassan the Vice President in the previous cabinet was sworn in as the new president. Within two weeks of her assignment, she appointed a new vice president and reshuffled the previous cabinet.
Dorothy Onesphoro Gwajima also known Gwajima Dorothy is a Tanzanian CCM politician and a nominated cabinet member since 2020. She was appointed by President John Magufuli into the Magufuli cabinet as the Minister of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elders and Children. She continued in this role following the death of John Magufuli, however, in January 2022 the ministry was split and she became the new Minister of Community Development and Gender.
