Miss Canada International & Miss Teen Canada International is a scholarship program for women in Canada. It was founded in 1995 and also has founded in 2005 The Teddy Bears of Hope Campaign in 2005 now "A Not For Profit Foundation" run by a board of directors. Miss Canada International and Miss Teen Canada International was purchased by GND Productions Corp.in 2012. Miss Canada International Inc. held the rights to send a Canadian representative to Miss World from 1997 to 2002.

Sam Roberts is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter who has released seven albums. His debut EP The Inhuman Condition, reached the Canadian charts in 2002. He and his bandmates have released three albums as Sam Roberts and four albums as Sam Roberts Band. He is also a member of Canadian group Anyway Gang, who released their debut self-titled album in 2019. Roberts has been nominated, together with his band, for fifteen Juno Awards, winning six, including Artist of the Year twice and Album of the Year once (2004).

Dion Phaneuf is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenseman who played for the Calgary Flames, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators and Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Shawn Sawyer is a Canadian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2011 Canadian national silver medallist and a three-time Canadian national bronze medallist. He represented Canada in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy finishing 12th overall. Unlike most skaters, Sawyer is a clockwise spinner.

Robert William Pickton, also known as the Pig Farmer Killer or the Butcher, is a Canadian serial killer, serial rapist, former pig farmer and possible cannibal who is suspected of being one of the most prolific serial killers in Canadian history. After dropping out of school, Pickton left a butcher's apprenticeship to begin working full-time at his family's pig farm. He is believed to have begun his murders in the early 1990s after inheriting the farm. Arrested in 2002, he was convicted in 2007 of the second-degree murders of six women and was also the subject of a lengthy investigation that yielded evidence of numerous other murders.
The Canadian Newsmaker of the Year was a designation awarded by the Canadian edition of Time magazine. It came with a written piece reflecting the magazine's staff's opinion on which Canadian or Canadians have had the most impact on the news, either positively or negatively. The honour has also been known by the title Canada's Newsmaker, or by titles such as "Headliners" and simply "Newsmakers" which were shared with non-Canadians. However, the exact phrase "Canadian Newsmaker of the Year" has been used by Time. This selection is not to be confused with the Canadian Press' separate selection of a Canadian Newsmaker of the Year, or with Time's overall Person of the Year.

The North American blizzard of 2008 was a winter storm that struck most of southern and eastern North America from March 6 to March 10, 2008. The storm was most notable for a major winter storm event from Arkansas to Quebec. It also produced severe weather across the east coast of the United States with heavy rain, damaging winds and tornadoes, causing locally significant damage. The hardest hit areas by the wintry weather were from the Ohio Valley to southern Quebec where up to a half a meter of snow fell locally including the major cities of Columbus, Ohio, Cleveland, Ohio, and Ottawa, Ontario. For many areas across portions of the central United States, Ontario and Quebec, it was the worst winter storm in the past several years. The blizzard and its aftermath caused at least 17 deaths across four US states and three Canadian provinces, while hundreds others were injured mostly in weather-related accidents and tornadoes.
The Sun and Salsa Festival was an annual festival put on in the Kensington Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ) of Calgary, Alberta. It took place along 10 Street and Kensington Road, which both have parts closed off to traffic. Attendance at the festival has grown to around 100,000 in 2010. In 2015, organisers announced that the festival would be cancelled due to construction developments in the community, citing sidewalks, trees, and streetlights upgrades as key factors. Since then, the festival has been under an indefinite hiatus.

He was drafted by the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL) in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL Draft. He played college football for the Evansville Purple Aces, Illinois Fighting Illini and Northwestern Wildcats.

Andrea Slobodian is a Canadian former television reporter. In October 2012, she became the late night anchor for CTV News in Winnipeg. Previously she was a reporter and commentator for The Roundtable on Sun News Network. She currently works for the Manitoba Legislature in the Communications and Stakeholder Relations department.
The Junkie Tour was the second headlining concert tour by Canadian American recording artist, Alanis Morissette. The tour promoted her fourth studio album, Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie. Beginning January, the tour played over 100 shows in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Oceania and Africa. Morissette took a break in the tour to co-headline a North American tour with American recording artist, Tori Amos. The tour was known as the 5 ½ Weeks Tour. The tour was extended into places she had never toured in 2000, where it became known as the One Tour.
Courage Productions runs the Miss BC pageant, including the Mrs. BC, Miss Teen BC, and Miss Charity BC titles. It was founded in Langley in 2002 by Darren Storsley. The final pageant night is televised by Shaw TV. The pageant has not been held since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
