A beauty pageant or beauty contest is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants, although most contests have evolved to also incorporate personality traits, intelligence, talent, and a contestant's ability to answer judges' questions on various subjects as judged criteria. The term refers largely to contests for women such as the Big Four international beauty pageants. Hundreds of thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. The Wall Street Journal, BBC News, CNN, Xinhua News Agency, and global news agencies such as Reuters, Associated Press and Agence France-Presse collectively refer to the four major pageants as "Big Four" namely: Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth.
Miss India or Femina Miss India is a national beauty pageant in India that annually selects representatives to compete in Miss World, one of the Big Four major international beauty pageants. It is organised by Femina, a women's magazine published by The Times Group. Since 2013, Femina also organizes Miss Diva separately which sends representatives to Miss Universe.

Miss Bangladesh is a national beauty pageant in Bangladesh that annually selects representatives to compete in Miss World, one of the Big Four major international beauty pageants. It is owned by Omicon Entertainment. Since 2019, Off Track Events organizes Miss Universe Bangladesh separately which sends representatives to Miss Universe. In 2020, Bangladesh sent their first representative to Miss Earth, Which was selected through Miss Earth Bangladesh.

The pageant also selects representative to Miss Multinational, an international pageant organized by the Glamanand group.
Femina Miss India 2019 was the 56th edition of the Femina Miss India beauty pageant. It was held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai on June 15, 2019, and was hosted by Karan Johar, Manish Paul and Miss World 2017, Manushi Chhillar. At the end of the event, Anukreethy Vas of Tamil Nadu crowned Suman Rao of Mumbai as her successor. She represented India at Miss World 2019 in London and placed 2nd Runner Up.

Vartika Singh crowned Adline Castelino as her successor and she will represent India at Miss Universe 2020. Shefali Sood crowned Aavriti Choudhary as her successor and she will represent India at Miss Supranational 2021. Miss Diva 2018 Runner up Roshni Sheoran crowned Neha Jaiswal as her successor. Anntonia Porsild, Miss Supranational 2019 graced the event. This was the first edition of Miss Diva under Liva Fluid Fashion.
Suman Ratan Singh Rao is an Indian model and beauty pageant title holder who was crowned Femina Miss India 2019. She represented India at the Miss World 2019 pageant in ExCeL London in United Kingdom, and was crowned as the 2nd runner-up and as Miss World Asia.
Miss Divine Beauty is a national beauty pageant in India operating under the parent organization Divine Group, that primarily selects India's representatives to compete at Miss Earth, an annual international beauty pageant working towards environmental protection and promoting awareness. The contest is scheduled to be progressed in four phases with the grand finale to be held in 2021.
