Miss Divine Beauty is a national beauty pageant in India operating under the parent organization Divine Group, that primarily selects India's representatives to compete at Miss Earth and Miss International. Miss Earth and Miss International are two of the Big Four major international beauty pageants in the world. [1] [2]

The reigning Miss Divine Beauties are Gauri Gothankar (Miss Earth India) and Reshmi Shinde (Miss India International).

Miss Divine Beauty also awards a candidate with the "Beauty with a Responsibility" title since 2021. [3] This award aims to acknowledge the work done by the beauty queens in order to bring a substantial change and to also support the future endeavours of their projects. Present winner of the award is Vanshika Parmar, who is an eco enthusiast from New Delhi, and she initiated a project titled as "Project Go Green". [4]

History

India has participated in the Miss Earth pageant since its inception in 2001. [5] From 2001 to 2013, India's representatives at Miss Earth were selected by Femina Miss India, which is sponsored by Femina , a women's magazine published by the Times Group. [6] [7] Subsequently, the franchise for selecting representatives from India to participate at the Miss Earth pageant was acquired by Glamanand Supermodel India. The Glamanand Group lost the franchise privilege in 2018. [8]

India's representatives to the Miss International beauty pageant was initially selected by the Eve's Weekly Miss India contest, since its inception in 1960, until the year 1988. [9]

Since the year 1991, Femina Miss India sent Indian delegates to compete at Miss International, and was successful in producing two first runner-ups and one second runner-up titles. [10] The last highest placement of Femina Miss India's representative at Miss International was achieved by Shonali Nagrani, who was crowned as the first runner-up in Miss International 2003. [11] [12] The Times Group dropped the franchise of Miss International in 2015. The last representative to Miss International by the Miss India Organization was Jhataleka Malhotra in 2014. [13] [14]

The Divine Group acquired the rights to send India's delegates to the Miss Earth in the year 2019. [15] and Miss International in 2023. [16] Deepak Agarwal, the founder and CEO of Divine Group, serves as one of the National Directors. [17] The first edition of Miss Divine Beauty was held on 31 August 2019 at Kingdom of Dreams, New Delhi. [18] The finale was witnessed by Miss Earth 2018 Nguyễn Phương Khánh, Miss Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman and Miss Earth Water 2018 Valeria Ayos. [2] Tejaswini Manogna became the first delegate to win the title of Divine Miss India. [19] [20] From 2019 onwards, Miss Divine Beauty is responsible for the selection of future Miss Earth India. [21]

Miss Divine Beauty aims to extend its wholehearted support to the women of today who have the potential to lead and represent the country tomorrow. Contest is devised and programmed to empower the women of today to be capable of being recognized at one of the biggest platform and voice their opinion on social rights and responsibilities and extend their support to make society a better place to live with peace globally. The winners will represent India at Miss Earth, Miss International and other international pageants.

In July 2023, the Divine Group obtained the license to send a delegate representing India to the Miss International pageant being held annually in Japan and is one among the Big Four major international beauty pageants in the world. The licence is valid for three years (2023-2025).

However, since 2017, the format changed to select individual winners from each state, allowing them to represent their respective regions at the national level.

The 50th edition of Femina Miss India was held at Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai, on March 24, 2013. The show was telecast live on Colors. A total of 23 contestants competed in the beauty pageant. Navneet Kaur Dhillon of Punjab was crowned Femina Miss India World 2013 by the outgoing titleholder Vanya Mishra. Sobhita Dhulipala and Zoya Afroz were crowned the 1st and 2nd Runners Up respectively.

Miss Universe India is a beauty pageant under the Glamanand Group organisation that selects India's official representative to the Miss Universe pageant since 2024.

The 51st edition of the Femina Miss India beauty pageant was held on April 5, 2014 in Mumbai, India. Finalists had been selected in a previous round held in Bangalore in January 2014, with 24 women competing for the title of Miss India World. Koyal Rana from Delhi was crowned Femina Miss India 2014 by the previous year's winner Navneet Kaur Dhillon, while Jhataleka Malhotra and Gail Nicole Da Silva were crowned 1st and 2nd Runners Up respectively.

Miss Diva was introduced by Femina to select a candidate to represent the country at Miss Universe.

The Miss Diva is a part of Femina Miss India pageant that primarily selected India's representatives to Miss Supranational and previously Miss Universe until 2023, one of the Big Four major international beauty pageants.

Miss Earth India or Miss India Earth is a title given to the Indian woman who represents India at Miss Earth, an annual, international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. The current national pageant which chooses the Indian representative for Miss Earth is Miss Divine Beauty of India.

Femina Miss India 2017 was the 54th edition of the Femina Miss India beauty pageant held on 25 June 2017 at Yash Raj Films, Mumbai. Priyadarshini Chatterjee of Delhi crowned Manushi Chhillar of Haryana as her successor. Sana Dua of Jammu and Kashmir was crowned first runner up and Priyanka Kumari of Bihar was crowned second runner Up.

The 5th edition of Miss Diva took place on 11 October 2017. The top 15 contestants selected from all over the country competed in the pageant.

The Glamanand Group is an Indian organization headquartered in New Delhi, which conducts national and international beauty pageants. Founded in 2014 by Nikhil Anand, it has since acquired a number of international beauty pageant licenses in India.

Miss Diva 2020 was the 8th edition of the Miss Diva beauty pageant held on 22 February 2020. A total of 20 contestants were shortlisted from various auditions across the country. Vartika Singh crowned Adline Castelino as her successor and she represented India at Miss Universe 2020. Shefali Sood crowned Aavriti Choudhary as her successor and she represented India at Miss Supranational 2021. Miss Diva 2018 Runner up Roshni Sheoran crowned Neha Jaiswal as her successor. Anntonia Porsild, Miss Supranational 2019 graced the event. This was the first edition of Miss Diva under Liva Fluid Fashion.

Tejaswini Manogna is an Indian model and beauty pageant titleholder. A medical doctor by profession, she won the title of Divine Miss Earth India 2019 and represented India at the 19th edition of the Miss Earth pageant held at Parañaque City, in the Philippines.

Miss India International or Miss International India is a title given to the Indian woman who represents India in the Miss International, an annual beauty pageant held in Japan. Miss Divine Beauty currently chooses the Indian representative for Miss International.

Miss Teen Diva is a national beauty pageant in India that annually selects representatives to compete in Miss Teen International, Miss Teen World, Miss Teen Universe, Miss Teen Earth, Miss Teen Multinational and Miss Teen Grand Pageants. The beauty pageant was started in 2020 by the Glamanand Group and was merged with Miss Teen India for three years.
