James Howard Wood is an American former professional basketball player born in Southampton, New York. A 6'7" 235 lb power forward, Wood played college basketball at the University of Tennessee and played one season in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Utah Jazz.
Fairmont Senior High School, is a public high school in Fairmont, West Virginia. The current school building, built in 1928, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The junior varsity basketball team at the University of North Carolina is a two-year program that gives non-scholarship students the opportunity to continue their basketball careers at the collegiate level. Tryouts for the J.V. team occur every year prior to the beginning of basketball season in October. Players are only allowed to play on the J.V. team for two years and then they are given a chance to try out for the varsity team as a walk-on. With a valid physical examination, any student that attends the university can try out for the J.V. team. The J.V. team is coached by assistant varsity coaches, who are given the opportunity to gain head coaching experience while fulfilling their assistant duties at the varsity level. Hubert Davis, prior to his promotion to head coach for the varsity team, was the head coach of the J.V. team. Since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down sports in spring 2020, the J.V. team has not competed, putting a pause on one of the most cherished traditions in Chapel Hill. The team did not return for the 2021–22 season, and instead tryouts were held to add walk-ons to the varsity team, due to the continued need for COVID-19 safety protocols.
The 2009–10 Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball team represented the University of Tennessee in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Lady Volunteers, coached since 1974 by Pat Summitt, play their home games at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Lady Vols, regular-season and tournament champions of the Southeastern Conference, were a #1 seed in the 2010 NCAA tournament, losing in the semifinals of the Memphis Regional to Baylor.

Harvard Schmidt was an American professional basketball player and coach. A 6 ft 6 in (1.98 m), 195 pounds (88 kg) small forward from Kankakee, Illinois. Schmidt attended the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, where he played from 1954 to 1957 for the men's basketball team. He also coached the Fighting Illini men's basketball team for seven years from 1967 to 1974.

Angel Robinson is a Minnesota native basketball forward. She registered in 134 games and started all but two games of her career. Robinson completed her career at MU as the only player in program history with over 1,500 points, 500 assists and 250 steals. She ranks in the top 12 in eight career statistical categories, including an MU-record 134 career games played. Robinson was selected First Team selection and WBCA All-America Team finalist. She was also a two time ALL-BIG EAST First Team selection and a member of the 2008 ALL- BIG EAST Freshman team. The American forward was drafted 22nd overall by the New York Liberty in 2011 WNBA Draft and traded to the Minnesota Lynx, who released her before the season began. She also signed a one-year deal to play for Ceyhan-Belediyesi SC in the Adana Province of Turkey. Robinson spent time playing for Telge in Sweden and currently plays in Switzerland.
The 2013–14 Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball team represented the University of Virginia during the 2013–14 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Tony Bennett, in his fifth season, and played their home games at John Paul Jones Arena as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The Fresno State Bulldogs women's basketball team represents California State University, Fresno, located in Fresno, California, in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They play their home games at the Save Mart Center and are members of the Mountain West Conference.
