Miss Perú is the national beauty pageant of the republic of Peru. The contest gathers participants from all over the nation, including Peruvian women representing their community overseas. Having been broadcast by all the major television networks in the country during its history, the pageant is currently broadcast by América Televisión. It is preceded by two or three months of preliminary events, with the awarding of corporate prizes by sponsors.
The Miss Spain is a national beauty pageant in Spain that selects Spanish representatives to compete in three of the big four major international beauty pageants: the Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International competitions.
Puteri Indonesia is a national beauty pageant in Indonesia that sends its winner to represent the country at Miss International, one of the Big Four international beauty pageants. Puteri Indonesia is traditionally held in March, alongside the celebration of International Women's Day. The pageant also sends representatives to Miss Supranational and Miss Charm pageants, by giving Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan and Puteri Indonesia Pariwisata titles to the 1st runner-up and 2nd runner-up respectively.

Thirty-three contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Elisa Nájera from Guanajuato, who later competed in Miss Universe 2008 in Vietnam where she was the 4th Runner-up. Nájera was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Rosa María Ojeda. She is the first and only Guanajuatense to win this title.
The Miss Costa Rica 2009 was held on March 27, 2009. Nine contestants entered, each representing a province and national capital. The pageant was held in the capital city. The location was The Auditorio del Museo de los Niños de Costa Rica. Jessica Umaña, representing the National Capital, was crowned the winner. Umaña, who stands 1.75 m tall, was one of the favorites for the title. This was her second try at the crown. She decided to try again, winning the title over 8 other contestants. The winner will enter Miss Universe 2009, Reina Hispanoamericana 2009 and Miss Continente Americano 2009. The first runner up will enter Miss World 2009 and Miss Tourism Queen International 2009. The second runner up will enter Miss International 2009 and Miss Intercontinental 2009. The third runner up will enter Miss Earth 2009 and Reinado Internacional del Café 2009.
The 7th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the Auditorio Emilio Sánchez Piedras of Apizaco, Tlaxcala, Mexico on September 2, 2000. Forty-three contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Jacqueline Bracamontes from Jalisco, who later competed in Miss Universe 2001 in Puerto Rico. Bracamontes was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Leticia Murray. She was the first Jalisciense and the second winner of foreign descent and the third blonde to win this Title.
The 9th Nuestra Belleza México pageant, was held at the World Trade Center of Boca del Río, Veracruz, Mexico on September 6, 2002. Thirty-three contestants of the Mexican Republic competed for the national title, which was won by Marisol González from Coahuila, who later competed in Miss Universe 2003 in Panamá. González was crowned by outgoing Nuestra Belleza México titleholder Ericka Cruz and Christiane Martel Miss Universe 1953. She is the first and only Coahuilense to win this title.
The Miss Guatemala or Miss Guatemala Universo is a national Beauty pageant in Guatemala. The pageant was founded in 1955, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe.

After the election of Marina Mora as Miss World Peru 2001/02. The Miss Perú Universe 2002 pageant was held on April 27, 2002. That year, just 12 candidates were competing for that national crown. The chosen winner represented Peru at the Miss Universe 2002 and for the first time at Miss Earth 2002. The rest of the finalists would enter in different pageants.
Due to the restructuring that carried out the Miss Peru Organization split in two one for Miss Peru Universe and another one for Miss World Peru.
