The Miss Peru 2018 pageant was held on the night of October 29, 2017. This national beauty contest was held in the historic centre's Municipal Theatre in Lima, Peru, after weeks of events. [1]
The outgoing titleholder, Prissila Howard of Piura crowned her successor, Romina Lozano of Callao at the end of the event. [2]
Lozano represented Peru at Miss Universe 2018.
The first and second runners-up were also selected to represent Peru at the international level, as Andrea Moberg and Kelin Rivera represented Peru at the Miss Grand International 2018 and Miss Eco International pageants, respectively.
The pageant was broadcast by Latina Television for the first time since 2004. The event was hosted by presenter Cristian Rivero with the outside commenting of Miss Peru 2009, Karen Schwarz.
This election became a platform opposing violence against women in Peru: when the 23 candidates took the floor to specify their measurements, each one announced a figure corresponding to the daily violence suffered by women living in Peru. The sequence ended with the following message from the presenter: "Tonight we are not only talking about these 23 women, tonight we are talking about all the women in our country who have rights and deserve respect". These statements can relate to the complaint of the Weinstein case [4] and were echoed by demonstrations against gender violence and feminicides in the country. [5]

Miss Perú is the national beauty pageant of Peru. The contest gathers participants from all over the nation, including Peruvian women representing their community overseas. Having been broadcast by all the major television networks in the country during its history, the pageant is currently broadcast by América Televisión. It is preceded by two or three months of preliminary events, with the awarding of corporate prizes by sponsors.
Reina Hispanoamericana is an annual beauty pageant celebrating Hispanic heritage, language and culture, started in 1991 as Reina Sudamericana, is based in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. Up to 2003 the participants were restricted to the 10 countries in South America; in 2004 participants from Panama and Costa Rica in Central America were invited; and in 2006 participants from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Portugal & Spain joined. In 2007 Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras & United States were added, and the name changed to Reina Hispanoamericana. In 2008, Curaçao and Haiti were added. In 2017, the Philippines, Canada, and Australia were added. In 2023, Indonesia was added.
The Miss Perú 2009 pageant was held on April 4, 2009. That year, 22 candidates were competing for the national crown. The chosen winner represented Perú in Miss Universe 2009. The rest of the finalists would enter in different pageants.

The new format consisted of ten former contestants that had previous pageant experience whether at international or national level to compete for the national crown and to represent the country in other selected pageants.

Miss Grand Peru is a national beauty pageant title bestowed upon a woman chosen to represent Peru at the annual international pageant, Miss Grand International. The title was first mentioned in 2014 when a finalist of Miss World Peru 2014, Sophía Venero, was appointed to represent the country at the Miss Grand International 2014 in Thailand. Since 2016, to date, the license of Miss Grand Peru has been belonging to the event organizer headed by Jessica Newton, Grupo D'Elite. Previously, the license belonged to a medical doctor and lawyer, Hanssel Vega.
Miss Grand Peru 2023 was the inaugural edition of the Miss Grand Peru pageant, held at the América Televisión Studio in Lima on June 22, 2023. Eleven candidates who qualified for the pageant through a virtual casting held earlier in January competed for the title, of whom, a 24-year-old Internet personality from Callao, Luciana Fuster, was elected the winner. Luciana represented Peru at the Miss Grand International 2023, held in Vietnam on October 25, 2023, and won, making her the second Peruvian woman to win the crown.
