The international pageant was established in 2001 by Cesar Montece, its founder[11] and currently owned and operated by Rodrigo Moreira.
The current Miss Teen World is Nachalee Creser of South Africa who was crowned on November 14, 2023.
History
Miss Teen World pageant was launched in the year 2001 in Ecuador and was continued in the coming year as well.[12]
Its founder César Montecé, a businessman of beauty with more than 40 years of experience in the field, died in 2010.[13]
In October 2012, Cesar Montecé's sister, who was listed as a partner in her brother's company, sold all the rights of the contest in front of the notary public; however, the international competition was officially relaunched in Ecuador, in 2014.[14]
Social Responsibility
Miss Teen World is a competition for teens that is committed to social responsibility. It is for that reason that its founder has raised 50% of ticket sales of the competition to help the Center for Social Pediatrics and Rehabilitation called "Kinderzentrum" in conjunction with the Foundation "Herta Seebass" based in Ecuador Miss Teen World helps children between 0 and 12 years old who have Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, hyperactivity, language and physical problems, congenital or acquired.[15]
The organization is directed by Rodrigo Moreira its current president who, since he has taken office, has initiated a Pediasure collection campaign to help raise awareness about childhood cancer and donate it to children with treatment at the Hospital Sociedad de Lucha Contra el Cancer SOLCA, also each contestant brings with them gifts that are donated to children in the pediatric and intensive area.
In this context, the reigning Miss Teen World 2020 Tyana Maldonado from the Dominican Republic attended the St. Jude Walk / Run 5k event held in the United States to raise money for childhood cancer research and the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who have the opportunity to receive treatments regardless of their family's economic situation.[16]
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is a pediatric treatment and research facility located in Memphis, Tennessee. Founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962, it is a 501(c)(3) designated nonprofit medical corporation which focuses on children's catastrophic diseases, particularly leukemia and other cancers. In the 2021 fiscal year, St. Jude received $2 billion in donations. Daily operating costs average $1.7 million, but patients are not charged for care. St. Jude’s covers some, but not all cancer-related costs. St. Jude treats patients up to age 21, and for some conditions, up to age 25.
Miss Ecuador is a national beauty pageant in Ecuador. The current Miss Ecuador is Delary Stoffers from Guayaquil. She won the title on July 1, 2023, and represented Ecuador at Miss Universe 2023.
Susan Jeske is the current CEO of Ms. America Pageant. In 1997 she was the first winner of Ms. America, a lesser known beauty peagant, which she purchased afterwards, holding a remodeled version of it since 2002. She has been involved in pageantry since 1983 as a competitor, judge, and pageant director at over 200 local, state, national and international pageant competitions. In 2007, Jeske was honored with the Lifetime Presidential Award from the President of the United States, George W. Bush for her lifetime contributions to charity and volunteerism. Other titles of her Ms. America Pageant company include Ms. International, Teen Ms. America, Ms. America Beauty Teen and Ms. America Fitness Pageants.
Renata Moreira Tortorelli is an Ecuadorian beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Italia Nel Mondo Ecuador 2011 and will represent her country in the 2011 Miss Italia Nel Mondo pageant.
Natalie Ann Pack is an American fashion model and real estate agent who held the title of Miss California USA 2012. She is also known for competing on America's Next Top Model, Cycle 12.
Miss Teen Earth is an annual international beauty pageant based in Ecuador.
