The 2020 Missouri gubernatorial election will be held on November 3, 2020, to elect the Governor of Missouri, concurrently with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as elections to the United States Senate and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. Incumbent Republican Governor Mike Parson is eligible to run for a full term in office, but has not yet declared whether he will do so. [1]

Mike Parson American politician

Michael L. Parson is an American politician and former law enforcement officer who is the 57th Governor of Missouri, having taken office on June 1, 2018, after the resignation of Eric Greitens. Parson previously had been the 47th Lieutenant Governor of Missouri. Before that, he served as a Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives from the 133rd district (2005–2011) and as a member of the Missouri Senate representing the 28th district (2011–2017). Parson was the Majority Caucus Whip in the Senate during the 96th General Assembly.

Eric Greitens American politician, author, and former Navy SEAL

Eric Robert Greitens is an American politician and former Navy SEAL who was the 56th governor of Missouri from January 2017 until his resignation in June 2018.

The University of Central Missouri (UCM), formerly Central Missouri State University (CMSU), is a public state university located in Warrensburg, Missouri, United States. Nicole Galloway American politician

Nicole Galloway is an American politician from the state of Missouri who was appointed as State Auditor of Missouri by Governor Jay Nixon on April 14, 2015, following the death of Tom Schweich. John Watson was appointed as Acting State Auditor following Schweich's death in February 2015, before Galloway's appointment as State Auditor nearly two months later. Galloway was elected to a full term as State Auditor of Missouri in the State Auditor election on November 6, 2018, winning by 135,571 votes, or nearly 6 percent, with 50.4% of the vote to her opponent's 44.6%. With the defeat of U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill in the 2018 U.S. Senate election, Galloway is the only female state officeholder and the only Democratic statewide elected official in Missouri.

State Auditor of Missouri

The State Auditor of Missouri is an elected official responsible for serving as the State of Missouri's chief fiscal regulator, conducting financial and performance audits for approximately 200 state agencies, boards, and commissions, and the state's judicial branch. The State Auditor also conducts audits for county and city governments lacking their own auditor or when requested by citizen petition. The State Auditor serves a four-year term, and is the only state Executive Branch official elected in even-numbered non-presidential election years. The office was temporarily held by John Watson after Tom Schweich, who was elected in 2010 and reelected in 2014, committed suicide on February 26, 2015. Nicole Galloway was appointed by Governor Jay Nixon to fill the office on a permanent basis until the 2018 State Auditor election, effective on April 27, 2015.

Jason David Kander is an American attorney, author, veteran, and politician. A Democrat, he served as the 39th Secretary of State of Missouri, from 2013 to 2017. He had previously served as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives from 2009 to 2013. Before entering politics, he was an intelligence officer in the Army National Guard, achieving the rank of captain.

2020 United States gubernatorial elections

United States gubernatorial elections will be held on November 3, 2020 in 11 states and two territories. In addition, special elections may take place if other gubernatorial seats are vacated. The last regular gubernatorial elections for nine of the eleven states took place in 2016. The last gubernatorial elections for New Hampshire and Vermont took place in 2018, as the governors of both states serve two-year terms. All state governors will be eligible for reelection except for Steve Bullock of Montana, although other governors may choose to retire. The 2020 gubernatorial elections will take place concurrently with several other federal, state, and local elections, including the presidential election.

2018 Missouri State Auditor election

On November 6, 2018, a general election in the U.S. state of Missouri was held for the post of State Auditor of Missouri. The election for Missouri State Auditor coincided with the U.S. federal midterm elections that were held throughout all 50 states, as well with other state legislative and local races in Missouri. Missouri's Class 1 United States Senate seat was also up for election on November 6, 2018.
