The 2020 United States Senate election in Alabama will be held on November 3, 2020, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Alabama, concurrently with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as other elections to the United States Senate in other states and elections to the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections.

Located on the Black Warrior River at the Atlantic Seaboard fall line of the Piedmont, it is the fifth-largest city in Alabama, with an estimated population of 100,287 in 2017. The city was originally known as Tuskaloosa until the early 20th century.

Robert Brown Aderholt is the U.S. Representative for Alabama's 4th congressional district, serving since 1997. He is a member of the Republican Party. The district includes most of Tuscaloosa County north of the Black Warrior River, as well as the far northern suburbs of Birmingham in Walker County and the southern suburbs of Huntsville and Decatur.

Morris Jackson "Mo" Brooks Jr. is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Alabama's 5th congressional district. He is a Republican. In 2017, he unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions upon his confirmation as U.S. Attorney General. In March 2018, he was rated the House's least bipartisan or most partisan member by The Lugar Center.

    2018 Alabama gubernatorial election

    The 2018 Alabama gubernatorial election took place on November 6, 2018, to elect the Governor of Alabama. Incumbent Republican Governor Kay Ivey, who took office on April 10, 2017, upon the resignation of Governor Robert Bentley, ran for election to a full term and won over Tuscaloosa mayor Walt Maddox. Ivey was sworn into office on January 14, 2019. This is the first gubernatorial election since 2002 in which a Democrat won Tuscaloosa County and the first since 1990 in which neighboring Pickens County voted for a different candidate than Tuscaloosa.

    The 2018 United States House of Representatives elections in Alabama were held on November 6, 2018, to elect the seven U.S. Representatives from the state of Alabama, one from each of the state's seven congressional districts. The elections coincided with other elections to the House of Representatives, as well as elections to the United States Senate and various state and local elections. The primaries were held on June 5, with all choosing a nominee except the Republican primary in the 2nd district, which went to a July 17 runoff. The 2018 general election saw no change in Alabama's representation, remaining at a 6-1 GOP advantage, even though Democrats won over 40% of the statewide vote.

Elections will be held to elect representatives from all 435 congressional districts across each of the 50 U.S. states. Non-voting delegates from the District of Columbia and all five inhabited U.S. territories will also be elected. The winners of this election will serve in the 117th United States Congress, with seats apportioned among the states based on the 2010 United States Census. Democrats will have held a House majority since January 2019.

    A special election for the United States Senate in Alabama took place on December 12, 2017, to fill a vacancy in the U.S. Senate through the end of the term ending on January 3, 2021, arising from the resignation on February 8, 2017, of Jeff Sessions to serve as the 84th United States Attorney General. Democratic candidate Doug Jones defeated Republican candidate Roy Moore by a margin of 21,924 votes (1.7%). Jones is the first Democrat to win a U.S. Senate seat in the state since 1992.

    The 2020 United States Senate special election in Arizona will be held on November 3, 2020. Following the death of Republican U.S. Senator John McCain on August 25, 2018, Governor Doug Ducey was required by Arizona law to appoint a Republican to fill the vacancy in McCain's Senate seat. In September 2018, Ducey appointed former U.S. Senator Jon Kyl to fill McCain's seat until after the Special Election of November 2020, which will determine who will serve the remainder of the term until January 2023. Kyl did not complete his interim appointment, and resigned on December 31, 2018. On December 18, 2018, Ducey announced that outgoing U.S. Representative Martha McSally would be appointed to fill the seat following Kyl's resignation. McSally was sworn in as Arizona's junior senator on January 3, 2019. She had been the Republican nominee for Arizona’s Class I U.S. Senate seat in 2018, but lost that race to Democrat Kyrsten Sinema.
