Dr. Francis Kwame Nkrumah was a Ghanaian politician,political theorist,and revolutionary. He was the first Prime Minister and President of Ghana,having led the Gold Coast to independence from Britain in 1957. An influential advocate of Pan-Africanism,Nkrumah was a founding member of the Organization of African Unity and winner of the Lenin Peace Prize from the Soviet Union in 1962.

Frederick Kwasi Apaloo was a Ghanaian barrister and judge who served as Chief Justice of Kenya from 1993 to 1995 and Chief Justice of Ghana from 1977 to 1986. He is the only judge to have served on the Supreme Court of Ghana under three Ghanaian republics.
Alhaji Imoru Egala was a Ghanaian politician and educationist. He held various positions in government in the Gold Coast and after independence of Ghana. He was the foreign minister of Ghana in the First Republic between 1960 and 1961.
Erasmus Ransford Tawiah Madjitey,was a Ghanaian police officer,diplomat and politician. He was appointed Police Commissioner in the Dominion of Ghana on 9 October 1958,making him not only the first Ghanaian to head the Ghana Police Service,but also the first African south of the Sahara and in the British Commonwealth to command a police force.
Dr. Kwame Nkrumah was the first Prime Minister and first President of Ghana. Nkrumah had run governments under the supervision of the British government through Charles Arden-Clarke,the Governor-General. His first government under colonial rule started from 21 March 1952 until independence. His first independent government took office on 6 March 1957. From 1 July 1960,Ghana became a republic and Nkrumah became the first president of Ghana.
The Anlo Youth Organisation was a political party that existed in the Gold Coast and later Ghana. It campaigned for the Ewe people under British rule to stay within Ghana after independence. It ended by merging with other parties to form a united opposition to the Convention People's Party.
Kofi Baako (1926-1984) was a Ghanaian sportsman,teacher and politician. He served as Minister for Defence in the Nkrumah government during the First Republic of Ghana until it was overthrown in 1966. He was also held various other ministries throughout the reign of the Convention People's Party.
Archibald "Archie" Casely-Hayford was a British-trained Ghanaian barrister and politician,who was involved in nationalist politics in the former Gold Coast. Having joined the Convention People's Party (CPP),in 1951 he was elected Municipal Member for Kumasi and was appointed by Kwame Nkrumah Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources in the government of the First Republic. When Nkrumah declared Ghana's Independence on 6 March 1957,he was photographed on the podium flanked by Casely-Hayford,together with Kojo Botsio,Komla Agbeli Gbedemah,Nathaniel Azarco Welbeck and Krobo Edusei.
Kofi Adumua Bossman was a Ghanaian barrister,a jurist and a politician. He was a prominent legal practitioner based in Accra in the 1940s and 1950s prior to being called to the bench. He was a Supreme Court Judge during the first republic. He was dismissed in 1964. In 1966 he was appointed as a member of the constitutional commission during the National Liberation Council (NLC) regime.
Edmund Nee Ocansey was a Ghanaian politician. He was the member of parliament for the Osudoku constituency from 1956 to 1966.
Hans Kofi Boni is a Ghanaian politician during the first republic of Ghana. He was the Member of parliament (MP) for Ho West.
Nelson Kwami Maglo was a Ghanaian politician in the first republic. He was the member of parliament for the Anlo North Constituency from 1956 to 1965 and the Avenor Constituency from 1965 to 1966.
