Mohamad Al Ississ is the Jordanian Minister of Finance. He was appointed as minister in November 2019. [1] [2] [3] [4] Previously he had served as Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Minister of State for Economic Affairs in Omar Razzaz's Cabinet led by Omar Razzaz. [5] He was formerly Special Advisor to His Majesty King Abdullah II,Advisor to His Majesty King Abdullah II for Economic Affairs,and Director of Economic and Social Development in the Office of His Majesty at the Royal Hashemite Court.
Earning his PhD in Economic Development and Public Policy from Harvard University,Dr. Al-Ississ also obtained two master’s degrees from Harvard in Public Administration/International Development and Middle Eastern Studies,as well as a bachelor’s degree in Economics with Honors.
Dr. Al-Ississ has extensive experience in academia. From 2010-2016 he was an Assistant Professor and Associate Dean at the American University in Cairo,as well as a visiting lecturer at Harvard Kennedy School. He is also a founding professor of the first massive Arabic course at Edraak,an online learning platform in partnership with Harvard University and MIT’s EdX platform.
Dr. Al-Ississ’professional positions include Associate Consultant at Boston Consultancy Group;Manager for Investment Promotion at USAID’s AMIR program;and Senior Competition Advisor to Jordan’s Minister of Industry and Trade.
Dr. Al-Ississ is a member of the Global Agenda Council at the World Economic Forum,a Fulbright scholar,and a published author in top tier academic journals. His policy briefs have been circulated by the World Economic Forum. His research focuses on the political economy of the Arab World and its transition,polarization,behavioral economics and finance,economics of political violence and religious experience. Al-Ississ is a frequent commentator on CNN and BBC in addition to contributing to leading regional and international print media.

The politics of Jordan takes place in a framework of a parliamentary monarchy,whereby the Prime Minister of Jordan is head of government,and of a multi-party system. Jordan is a constitutional monarchy based on the constitution promulgated on January 8,1952. The king exercises his power through the government he appoints which is responsible before the Parliament. In contrast to most parliamentary monarchies,the monarchy of Jordan is not ceremonial,with the King having significant influence over the affairs of the country.

Dr Mohieldin also served on several Boards of Directors in the Central Bank of Egypt and the corporate sector. He was a member of the Commission on Growth and Development and was selected for the Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum in 2005. His professional experience extends into the academic arena as a Professor of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science,Cairo University and as a visiting professor at several renowned Universities in Egypt,Korea,the UAE,the UK and the USA. The Iraqi Republic,colloquially known as the First Iraqi Republic,as well as Qasimist Iraq (1958–1963) and Nasserist Iraq (1963–1968),was a state forged in 1958 under the rule of President Muhammad Najib ar-Ruba'i and Prime Minister Abdul-Karim Qasim. ar-Ruba'i and Qasim first came to power through the 14 July Revolution in which the Kingdom of Iraq's Hashemite dynasty was overthrown. He is the chief executive officer of Tomoh Advisory,based in Dubai,UAE and serves as a member of the board of directors of Al Baraka Banking Group in Bahrain. In 2006 Awadallah was appointed as the director of the Office of King Abdullah II and was appointed chief of the Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan in 2007.
Rana Dajani is a Jordanian molecular biologist and tenured professor of biology and biotechnology at Hashemite University. She earned her Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Iowa. Dajani is an expert on genetics of Circassian and Chechen populations in Jordan,also on conducting genome-wide association studies on diabetes and cancer on stem cells. Her work in stem cell research initiated the development of the Stem Cell Research Ethics Law and all regulations in Jordan. She is an advocate for the biological evolution theory in relation to the religion of Islam,and believes strongly in the education and empowerment of women,being a member of the United Nations Women Jordan Advisory Council. She is the recipient of the Jordan's Order of Al Hussein for Distinguished Contributions of the Second Class.
