Mohamed Soltani is a Tunisian Olympic boxer. He represented his country in the featherweight division at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He won his first bout against Davis Lusimbo, and then lost his second bout to Eddy Suarez. [1]

Libya competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. The country's participation in Sydney marked its sixth appearance at a Summer Olympics since its debut at the 1964 Games. The delegation included three male athletes; marathon runner Adel Edeli, judoka Tarek Ayad and Nizar Mohamed Naeeli in taekwondo. The 1st AIBA African 2004 Olympic Boxing Qualifying Tournament was held in Casablanca, Morocco from January 15 to January 22, 2004. It was the first chance for amateur boxers from Africa to qualify for the 2004 Summer Olympics since the 2003 All-Africa Games. First and second place qualified for the Olympic Tournament in Athens, Greece, except for the heavyweight and super heavyweight events, which only qualified for first place. Egypt competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012, sending one of its largest delegations ever. A total of 110 Egyptian athletes participated in 83 events across 20 sports, with more women taking part than ever before. The nation's flagbearer in the opening ceremonies was Hesham Mesbah, a judoka who was Egypt's only medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics. Egypt won two medals during the course of the Games: Alaaeldin Abouelkassem earned silver in the men's foil, becoming the first competitor from an African nation to win a fencing medal, while Karam Gaber captured silver in the men's 84 kg Greco-Roman wrestling event. Two Egyptian weightlifters were awarded medals retroactively, after higher-ranked competitors were disqualified for doping: Abeer Abdelrahman took silver in the women's 75 kg event, while Tarek Yehia, received bronze in the men's 85 kg event. Among other achievements, Mostafa Mansour was the nation's first competitor in sprint canoeing while fencer Shaimaa El-Gammal became the first Egyptian female to appear in four editions of the Olympics.

Mostafa Mohamed is an amateur Egyptian Greco-Roman wrestler, who played for the men's featherweight category. Mostafa represented Egypt at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed for the men's 55 kg class. He received a bye for the preliminary round of sixteen match, before losing out to Azerbaijan's Rovshan Bayramov, with a technical score of 0–12. Because his opponent advanced further into the final match, Mohamed offered another shot for the bronze medal by entering the repechage bouts. He was defeated in the first round by Cuba's Yagnier Hernández, who was able to score nine points in two straight periods, leaving Mohamed with a single point.

Mykola Valeriyovych Butsenko is a Ukrainian amateur boxer who competes in the bantamweight division. In the quarterfinals of the 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships he defeated Selçuk Eker of Turkey to win his 1st medal at the World Championships. He is also a two-time European silver medalist. He participated at the 2016 Summer Olympscs where he lost his first bout against Mohamed Hamout from Morocco.

Eddy Suarez is a Cuban Olympic boxer. He represented his country in the featherweight division at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He won his first bout against Lee Chil-Gun, then lost won in his second bout against Mohamed Soltani, but lost in his third bout against Faustino Reyes.

Davis Lusimbo is a Ugandan former professional boxer who competed from 1997 to 2003, once winning the ABU light welterweight title. As an amateur he represented his country in the featherweight division at the 1992 Summer Olympics. He lost his first bout against Mohamed Soltani.

Mohamed Haddad is a Syrian Olympic boxer. He represented his country in the light-flyweight division at the 1988 Summer Olympics. He lost his first bout against Maurice Maina of Kenya.

Neil McLaughlin was an Irish professional boxer. As an amateur, he won several regional and national titles, including winning the All-Ireland title in 1971 and 1972. He won a bronze medal at the 1971 European Amateur Boxing Championships before competing in the men's flyweight event at the 1972 Summer Olympics, where he reached the quarter-finals.

The men's featherweight event was part of the boxing programme at the 1992 Summer Olympics. The weight class allowed boxers of up to 57 kilograms to compete. The competition was held from 29 July to 9 August 1992. 31 boxers from 31 nations competed.
