Mohammed Dikko Abubakar, CFR,NPM,mni (Rtd) is a Nigerian Policeman and former Inspector General of Police. He was appointed in 2012 [1] to succeed Hafiz Ringim and was succeeded by Suleiman Abba in 2014. [2] [3] He is currently the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of council Al-Hikma University,Ilorin [4] and also the President of Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI). [5]
Abubakar was born in Gusau,a city of then Sokoto State,which is also the capital of today Zamfara State. The firstborn of a family of many,his father is an Islamic scholar and farmer. [6]

He was appointed by the President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari to replace Mohammed Adamu who retired from Nigeria Police Force in February 2021. The Police Council on Friday,June 4,2021,confirmed the appointment of Alkali Usman Baba as the substantive Inspector General of Police.
The 2023 Nigerian gubernatorial elections will be held for state governors in 31 out of 36 Nigerian states. All but three elections will be held on 11 March—concurrent with elections to every state house of assembly,two weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections—while the Imo State,Kogi State,and Bayelsa State elections will be held on 11 November. The last regular gubernatorial elections for all states were in 2019. All states have a two term limit for Governors which makes 18 incumbent governors ineligible for re-election.
The 2023 Jigawa State gubernatorial election will take place on 11 March 2023,to elect the Governor of Jigawa State,concurrent with elections to the Jigawa State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election will be held two weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term.
