Moke were a British rock band who released two albums and a handful of singles; most notably the single "My Degeneration", described as "an angry indictment of callous youth". [1]
Moke formed in London, England in 1997, composed of John Hogg (vocals, guitar), Sean Genockey (guitar), Alex Evans (bass guitar), and John Morgan (drums). [2] [3] Moke signed to London indie label Dorado Records. The band recorded and co-produced a debut album, Superdrag (1998), described by JT Griffith of Allmusic as "hyper-eclectic, mixing a strong love for Led Zeppelin (à la compatriots Reef) with hints of rap-rock, blues, reggae, and of course classic rock". [4] This led to a US recording contract; Superdrag was re-released in the US as a self-titled album. [5] A second album, Carnival (2001), released on Ultimatum/Artemis Records, was produced by Paul Stacey, who also played guitar on the album. [6] [7] Michael Lipton of LA Weekly described the album: "Sonically and musically, this disc is a pleasure from beginning to end". [8] While Carnival was initially released only in the United States, after the group broke up it was released in Britain by Fruit Pie Records. [9] Critics compared the group to Oasis, The Rolling Stones, The Who, [10] Led Zeppelin, [4] Faith No More., [11] Tesla, [12] and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. [13]
Moke toured the UK, Europe and the US extensively throughout the late 1990s / early 2000s along with many acts, including The Black Crowes, Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, Kings X, Spacehog and Senser. After the release of Carnival, the group headlined its own tour in the U.S. [14]
Since 2002 the band have been working on other projects. John Hogg went on to form Hookah Brown with Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes. [15] but this group disbanded after only a few months. However, [16] Johnny Hogg has now reunited with Rich Robinson, forming a new band The Magpie Salute along with other original Black Crowes members Marc Ford and Sven Pipien. John Morgan in playing with the original lineup of Senser. Alex Evans is a Senior Lecturer in Popular Music at Kingston University as well as Education Officer at Visconti Studio, a tape-based recording studio in partnership with Tony Visconti, the British Library and the Science Museum. Sean Genockey is a successful record producer who has worked with The Who, Roger Daltrey and the Manic Street Preachers.
Moke reunited on 16 September 2011 to perform their first concert in ten years.

Led Zeppelin were an English rock band formed in London in 1968. The group consisted of vocalist Robert Plant, guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones, and drummer John Bonham. With a heavy, guitar-driven sound, they are cited as one of the progenitors of hard rock and heavy metal, although their style drew from a variety of influences, including blues and folk music. Led Zeppelin have been credited as significantly impacting the nature of the music industry, particularly in the development of album-oriented rock (AOR) and stadium rock. Many critics consider Led Zeppelin one of the most successful, innovative and influential rock groups in history.
Led Zeppelin II is the second studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, released on 22 October 1969 in the United States and on 31 October 1969 in the United Kingdom by Atlantic Records. Recording sessions for the album took place at several locations in both the United Kingdom and North America from January to August 1969. The Black Crowes are an American rock band formed in Marietta, Georgia, in 1984. Their discography includes eight studio albums, four live albums and several charting singles. The band was signed to Def American Recordings in 1989 by producer George Drakoulias and released their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, the following year. Their follow-up, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, reached the top of the Billboard 200 in 1992. After a hiatus from 2002 to 2005, the band regrouped and toured for several years before releasing Warpaint in 2008, which reached number 5 on the Billboard chart.
Southern rock is a subgenre of rock music and a genre of Americana. It developed in the Southern United States from rock and roll, country music, and blues and is focused generally on electric guitars and vocals. Author Scott B. Bomar speculates the term "southern rock" may have been coined in 1972 by Mo Slotin, writing for Atlanta's underground paper, The Great Speckled Bird, in a review of an Allman Brothers Band concert.

They are best known for their 1996 single, "Sucked Out", off their album Regretfully Yours, for which a video was played on MTV. The original lineup reunited in 2007, releasing a full-length album in 2009: Industry Giants.

Lions is the sixth studio album by American rock band The Black Crowes. It was released in 2001 as their first album on V2 Records following their departure from Columbia, and is their only studio album to feature guitarist Audley Freed. Lions was recorded in New York City in January and February of that year, and was produced by Don Was. Bass guitar duties were shared by Rich Robinson and Was, as Greg Rzab had left the band and was not replaced until the tour that followed the release of the album.

Splendor Solis (1993) is the second album by Canadian rock band The Tea Party, and their first major label release on EMI Music Canada. The album sold very well in Canada, reaching #20 on the Canadian album chart and achieving platinum status in 1994 and earning a Juno nomination for "Best Hard Rock Album". The band was also nominated for "Best New Group". Splendor Solis was also The Tea Party's first gold selling album in Australia.
Richard Spencer Robinson is an American musician and founding member of the rock and roll band The Black Crowes. Along with older brother Chris Robinson, Rich formed the band in 1984 while the two were attending Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia. At age 15, Rich wrote the music for "She Talks to Angels", which became one of the band's biggest hits.
Stone the Crows was a blues-rock band formed in Glasgow in late 1969. They are primarily remembered for the onstage electrocution of guitarist and founding member Les Harvey.
Leslie Cameron Harvey was a guitarist in several Scottish bands of the late 1960s and early 1970s, most notably Stone the Crows. He was the brother of Alex Harvey.

Called "one of the defining classics of Chicago electric blues", "Killing Floor" became a blues standard with recordings by various artists. The band's follow-up High Water II was released October 18, 2019.
