The Monaghan Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Monaghan GAA clubs. The Monaghan County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1909.
Inniskeen Grattans are the title holders (2023) defeating Castleblayney Hurling Club in the Final.
The trophy presented to the winners was the Blayney Shoe Company Cup (1945-1996) and now the Mick Quigley Cup (since 1997). The winners of the Monaghan Championship qualify to represent their county in the Ulster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship or Ulster Junior Club Hurling Championship. The winners can, in turn, go on to play in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship or All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship.
The Mick Hannon DHL (Development Hurling League) is the Monaghan reserve hurling league. It was renamed in 2020, with Inniskeen being the first team to win the Mick Hannon Cup in 2021, defeating Carrickmacross in the final on a scoreline of 3-07 to 1-07.

At the end of the championship, the winning team qualify to the subsequent Ulster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Hurling Championship.
At the end of the championship, the runners-up play the Junior champions and the winner will qualify to the subsequent Ulster Junior Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship.

The Monaghan Junior Hurling Championship (Abbreviated to the Monaghan JHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Monaghan County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the junior clubs in the county of Monaghan in Ireland. It is the second tier in the Monaghan hurling championship system.
Truagh are the title holders, defeating Monaghan Harps Hurling Club by 1-19 - 2-10 in the 2023 final.
Format: Teams that finished 4th to 7th place in the group stage of the Monaghan Senior Hurling Championship contest the championship.
At the end of the championship, the winning team qualify to the subsequent Ulster Junior Club Hurling Championship, the winner of which progresses to the All-Ireland Junior Club Hurling Championship.

The Monaghan County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) or Monaghan GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Monaghan and the Monaghan county football and hurling teams. Separate county boards are responsible for the promotion & development of handball, camogie and ladies' football within the county, as well as having responsibility for their representative county players/teams. The current team sponsor of Monaghan GAA is Investec.
The Armagh Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Armagh GAA clubs. Hurling has always been more popular in the north and west of the county. Camlough and Bessbrook are the only south Armagh clubs to have won the Senior Championship.
The Cavan Senior Hurling Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association competition between the top hurling clubs in Cavan. The winners of the Cavan Championship qualify to represent their county in the Ulster Club Championship, the winners of which go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship. This championship has never been played on a consistent basis, and has frequently not been completed. In 2010, Mullahoran won the title for the 21st successive year. That run of victories was ended in 2011 when Ballymachugh beat Mullahoran in the final. In 2017, Mullahoran won their first title in four years with a win over Cootehill on a scoreline of 4–19 to 0–05. Cootehill are the current champions, having won the 2022 championship title.
The Derry Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Derry GAA clubs. The Derry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association has organised it since 1887.

Castleblayney Faughs are a Gaelic football club based in the town of Castleblayney, County Monaghan, Ireland. They are the most successful club in the Monaghan Senior Football Championship, having won the competition 37 times, and have also won the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship twice. It is a separate club from Castleblayney Hurling Club, the town's hurling club.
Inniskeen Grattans Gaelic Athletic Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club, based in Inniskeen, County Monaghan, Ireland. The club participates in both Gaelic football and hurling competitions organized by Monaghan GAA county board. In 2010, the club won its first ever Monaghan Senior Hurling Championship title.
