Monghall is a town in Anantnag tehsil in Anantnag district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of 105 villages in Anantnag Block along with areas like Bagh e Nowgam, 7 Chaks, Upper Poora, Bagaw Mohalla, Peer Mohalla, Muqdampora etc. Dr. Mohd Ishaq Mir is the renowned doctor and Junaid Manzoor Shah is the renowned Student activist of the region.

Kashmiri is the local language. People in the area also speak Urdu and Hindi.

Jamia Masjid Shangus popular as Masjid e Mukaram is the 2nd largest Masjid in J&K after Jamia Masjid, Srinagar.The old Jama Masjid shangus was the third-largest mosque in Kashmir,after Srinagar and shopian built on the pattern of Srinagar and Shopian Jamia Masjids. It was heavily influenced by Persian architecture and has a square garden in the middle. The construction of the mosque started on November 9, 1949, and was completed in 1955, taking around 6 years at that time. According to ancestors, when the fundraising began, it was around 300 rupee first time & then money for the construction of the mosque was collected from the whole area, totaling 18,000 rupees at that time during the inaugural construction. Later, it was upgraded and decorated over time to time In 2020, it was decided that reconstruction should take place by the local body of auqaf but it took some time because of COVID that time .The reconstruction started with a stone-laying ceremony on August 13, 2021, and is continuing to this date. Its area was increased from two sides, making it the second-largest mosque in all of Kashmir after Historic Srinagar jamia masjid & taking over shopian mosque. Hutmarah is a village in Anantnag East tehsil in Anantnag district in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of 105 villages in Anantnag East Tehsil Block Mattan along with villages like Seer hamdan and Mattan. Lankreshipora is a moderate size village located almost 2.5 km from main Bandipora town in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It is an industrial area situated on the banks of Wular Lake and a canal called Mudhmati Nala. Almost forty percent of the population is directly or indirectly associated with local band saw industries. Lankreshipora is known to supply raw material like wooden boxes for fruit packaging mostly to South Kashmir districts like Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama. Most people are dependent on fishing, carpet weaving and other handicrafts. Lankreshipora has been ignored by the local politicians from decades due to which it is one of the most underdeveloped villages in the whole district. The literacy rate is almost below 20 percent, however, the new generation is showing promise both in education and sports. Lack of education, sanitary and medical facilities are evident.
