Pinhead Gunpowder is an American punk rock band that formed in East Bay, California, in 1991. The band currently consists of Aaron Cometbus, Bill Schneider (bass), Billie Joe Armstrong and Jason White. The band's name comes from a brand of "high octane" green tea served at the Arcata co-op and discovered by Aaron Cometbus during one of his many dumpster diving adventures.
Disrupt was an American crust punk band from Lynn, Massachusetts that was active from 1987 to 1993. The lineup was Jay Stiles and Pete Kamarinos (vocals), Chris Drake (guitar), Harry Haralabatos (drums), Tony Leone (bass). After recording one rehearsal demo, Tony and Harry left the band. Brad Jones (drums) and Mike Williams (guitar) joined in the spring of 1988. Brad left the band a couple of months later and Mike started playing drums. With this lineup, they recorded the Millions Die For Moneymaking thirteen-song demo with Jay also playing bass in November 1988. In the spring of 1989, Mike and Chris left the band and Harry their first drummer rejoined so they could record songs that at the time were supposed to be on a split 7" with Extreme Noise Terror. At this time, they recruited Scott Lucid to play bass. In October 1989, they recorded five songs for the self titled 7" that was co-released on Crust records and Deafcore records. The lineup on the first 7" was Pete (vocals), Jay, Scott (bass) and Harry (drums). In 1990, Scott left the band and they acquired Bob Palombo to play bass. A few months earlier, Chris Drake rejoined the band and Terry Savastano (Spasm) joined on second guitar. This lineup recorded eleven songs for the Refuse Planet 7" Relapse and split 7" with Destroy in January 1991. Both records were released in 1991. Chris left the band in early 1991 and then they got Jeff Hayward on second guitar. About a week after Jeff joined the band, Harry (drums) quit so they recruited Randy Odierno. In May 1991 the lineup was Pete Kamarinos (vocals), Jay Stiles (vocals), Terry Savastano (guitar), Jeff Hayward (guitar), Bob Palombo (bass) and Randy Odierno (drums). That year they entered Headroom studios and recorded songs for split 7"s with Disdain, Resist, Tuomiopaivan Lapset (Ecocentric) and Taste of Fear. The split 7"s and the Smash Divisions live 7" (S.O.A.) were released in 1992. In November 1992, they entered One World studios with Bill T. Miller and recorded thirty songs for the Unrest album and Deprived 7". The ten songs for the Deprived 7" were new recordings of older tracks. In June 1993, they entered the Lanes studios with Bill T Miller and recorded 17 songs. Eight songs from the session were released on the split LP with Sauna (Sludge) in 1994. The split 7" with Warcollapse was released on Crust records in 1995. Disrupt toured Europe in October/November 1993. After the tour, they broke up due to personal and musical differences. The Unrest album was released on Relapse in August 1994.

Crimpshrine was an American punk rock band from Berkeley, California. The group was formed in 1982 by Aaron Cometbus, founder of the seminal punk rock zine Cometbus, and future Operation Ivy vocalist Jesse Michaels. They grew out of the East Bay scene, centered on 924 Gilman Street, and had an important influence on later East Bay bands such as Operation Ivy, Green Day and punk rock in general.
Aaron Elliott, better known as Aaron Cometbus, is an American musician, songwriter, roadie, and magazine editor, best known as the creator of the punk zine Cometbus.
Jason White is an American musician, best known for being the touring guitarist of the rock band Green Day. He has performed with Green Day as a touring member since 1997. He has worked with Green Day in the studio and on tour, and has appeared in various music videos with the band, including "When I Come Around", "Wake Me Up When September Ends" and "Last of the American Girls". He was briefly credited as an official member on the group's 2012 trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!. Prior to working with Green Day, he was a member of the punk band Pinhead Gunpowder, which also featured Green Day vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong. White has also been a member of a number of Green Day side projects including Foxboro Hot Tubs, The Network, and The Coverups among others.

Compulsive Disclosure is the second compilation album by the American punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder. It was released on October 21, 2003, through Lookout! Records. The album features songs from the group's eponymously titled 2000 EP, the Dillinger Four / Pinhead Gunpowder split EP, the 8 Chords, 328 Words EP and also features re-recorded versions of the songs "2nd Street" and "At Your Funeral". Compulsive Disclosure was re-released on CD and vinyl through Recess Records on February 12, 2010, with two unreleased tracks, "Salting Agents" and "El Lasso Grappo".
Shoot the Moon is the fourth EP by the American punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder. It was released on March 30, 1999 through Adeline Records. It was re-released on CD and vinyl through Recess Records on February 12, 2010. It was re-leased on vinyl in 2022 by 1, 2, 3, 4 Go! Records. As of 2022, it is unavailable on major streaming services.
Goodbye Ellston Avenue is the debut studio album by the American punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder. It was released on February 25, 1997, through Lookout! Records. The album was re-released on vinyl and CD through Recess Records. It is the only studio album by Pinhead Gunpowder to date.
Carry the Banner is the third EP by the Berkeley, California-based punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder. Originally released on 10" vinyl in December 1994 through Too Many Records, the EP was reissued on CD by Lookout Records shortly after as the initial vinyl pressing sold out quickly. It was the group's first release to feature Jason White on guitar/vocals, replacing Sarah Kirsch, who left the band in 1994 due to differences with Billie Joe Armstrong after his main band Green Day signed to major label Reprise Records.

Pinhead Gunpowder is the second eponymously titled extended play by the American punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder. It was released on August 19, 2008, through Recess Records, the group's first release on Recess. Pinhead Gunpowder marked the band's first new release in over 5 years. The first pressings of the extended play were on green and blue vinyl. All of the tracks were re-released on the 2009 compilation Kick Over the Traces.
Fuel was a short-lived Bay Area post-hardcore musical act that created both personal and political songs, something that was unique during the "first wave" of emo in the 1990s. Fuel had a sound akin to the mostly East Coast bands on Dischord Records, especially Fugazi, with twin guitars and dueling rough post-hardcore vocals. In fact, it is noted that Fuel was often jokingly referred to as "Fuelgazi." Fuel's style resembled the D.C. sound of many Dischord bands.

Kick Over the Traces is a compilation album by the American punk rock band Pinhead Gunpowder. The album contains tracks from Pinhead Gunpowder releases since the band formed in 1990. The album was released through Recess Records on June 16, 2009. The Japanese edition features a second disc recorded live at 924 Gilman Street on February 10, 2008, and features different cover art.
Can of Pork is a compilation album of various punk rock artists. It was released as two 12-inch vinyl records or one CD in April 1992 by Lookout Records. The vinyl version has a booklet of lyrics and photography and the CD version has information on contacting the bands and a detailed description of the compilation's production.
Quit Talkin' Claude... is the final studio release by the Berkeley, California-based punk rock band Crimpshrine. It was released in April 1989, a month before the band's break-up, through Lookout Records with the catalog number LK 015. The EP showed a change in sound for the band, featuring longer songs, more personal lyrics and psychedelic influence in the guitar work. Many of the musical elements on the EP would be featured in the band members' later projects, including Fifteen, Pinhead Gunpowder and Cleveland Bound Death Sentence.
