Racine County is a county in southeastern Wisconsin. As of the 2020 census, its population was 197,727, making it Wisconsin's fifth-most populous county. Its county seat is Racine. The county was founded in 1836, then a part of the Wisconsin Territory. Racine County comprises the Racine metropolitan statistical area. This area is included as part of the Milwaukee-Racine-Waukesha combined statistical area. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has an area of 792 square miles (2,050 km2), of which 333 square miles (860 km2) is land and 460 square miles (1,200 km2) (58%) is water. The county's unemployment rate was 5.6% in June 2021.
Kenosha County is located in the southeastern corner of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 169,151 as of the 2020 census, making it the eighth most populous county in Wisconsin. The county shares the same name as the city of Kenosha, the fourth largest city in Wisconsin. Located in Kenosha County along the southwestern shoreline of Lake Michigan, Pleasant Prairie was home to 21,250 people at the 2020 census. The village is positioned directly south of the city of Kenosha and directly north of the Illinois border. Although located just 37 miles south of Milwaukee, it is part of the United States Census Bureau's Chicago combined statistical area (CSA) and metropolitan statistical area despite being 57 miles north of that city. The areas served by this connecting route are a commercial area near the Interstate which is adjacent to a growing industrial park between the Interstate and WIS 31 to the east; and a predominantly residential area between WIS 31 and WIS 32 near the shore of Lake Michigan.

Western Kenosha County Transit is a regional bus service operating route deviation and door-to-door service throughout Kenosha County, Wisconsin, mainly serving the rural areas west of Interstate-94. Western Kenosha County Transit runs a weekday route deviation service between Twin Lakes, Wisconsin and the Kenosha, Wisconsin. There is also a weekday rush hour commuter shuttle between Twin Lakes and the Metra Train Station in Antioch, Illinois. Expanded regional routes offer weekly trips to Antioch and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, with home pick-up service available. The door-to-door service does not require certification and is open to the general public. Riders must call at least one day in advance to schedule a door-to-door trip. Service operates within Kenosha County as well as to Burlington, Lake Geneva, and Antioch.

The 61st Assembly District of Wisconsin is one of 99 districts in the Wisconsin State Assembly. Located in southeastern Wisconsin, the district covers most of Kenosha County. It includes the villages of Bristol, Paddock Lake, Pleasant Prairie, Salem Lakes, and Twin Lakes, and the western half of the village of Somers. It also contains the Richard Bong State Recreation Area and Chiwaukee Prairie Nature Preserve. The district is currently vacant, it was most recently represented by Republican Samantha Kerkman, from January 2013 to June 2022.
