Morgan Abraham is an American businessman,army intelligence officer,and politician who served as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives in 10th district from 2021 to 2023.
Abraham earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Arizona in 2014 and a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Eller College of Management in 2019. [1] Abraham served as Student Body President of the University of Arizona during his senior year of college. [2] As Student Body President Abraham successfully brought the University's Spring Fling Carnival back to the University of Arizona main campus for the first time in 15 years, [3] worked on student policy engagement and LGBT equity issues. [4] [5] Abraham also successfully lobbied the Arizona Board of Regents and the University of Arizona administration to agree to a "Guaranteed Tuition Plan" for undergraduate students,which locked in their tuition rates during the four year period they attended school,in contrast to the plan proposed by Governor Jan Brewer . [6]
Abraham started his own business ABECAP,or Abraham Capital,in 2013. ABECAP specializes in converting old,dilapidated buildings to housings with a focus on affordable housing. Abraham’s company was involved in the conversion of the Spanish Trail Motel to affordable housing for veterans. [7] The property was purchased for $2.5 million,and was the largest redevelopment in South Tucson in over two decades. The project received praise from city officials for addressing the area's need for more affordable housing for veterans. [8] From 2013 to 2022 Abraham grew ABECAP into one of the largest real estate conversation companies in Southern Arizona.
Before serving in the Arizona House of Representatives Abraham led the opposition campaign to Governor Doug Ducey's proposed ballot initiative,Proposition 123. [9] Abraham argued that the plan proposed by Governor Ducey would insufficiently fund public schools in Arizona. The ballot initiative narrowly passed by a less than 2% margin,despite the "Vote No" campaign spending only $20,265.50 while the "Vote Yes" campaign spent over $5.4 million. [10] In 2017,Abraham joined the United States Army Reserve as an intelligence officer,having received his commission from the ROTC program at the University of Arizona. He is also a managing partner at Abraham Capital,real estate investment firm based in Tucson,Arizona.
Abraham was appointed to the Arizona House of Representatives by the Pima County Board of Supervisors in December 2021,succeeding Stephanie Stahl Hamilton. [11] [12] While in office,Abraham focused his efforts on increasing access to affordable education,including legislation to create universal Pre-K in Arizona. [13] As an active duty intelligence officer in United States Army,Abraham also became a leading voice for commonsense gun reform in the Arizona Legislature. [14] He was defeated for election in the Democratic Party primary in 2022.

Oro Valley,incorporated in 1974,is a suburban town located 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Tucson,Arizona,United States,in Pima County. According to the 2020 census,the population of the town is 47,070,an increase from 29,700 in 2000. Dubbed the "Upscale Tech Mecca" of Southern Arizona by the Arizona Daily Star newspaper,Oro Valley is home to over 10 high tech firms and has a median household income nearly 50% higher than the U.S. median. The town is located approximately 110 miles (180 km) southeast of the state capital of Phoenix.
Pima Community College (PCC) is a public community college in Pima County,Arizona. It serves the Tucson metropolitan area with a community college district consisting of five campuses,four education centers,and several adult education learning centers. It provides traditional and online instruction for over 144 programs. The college also offers workforce training,non-credit personal interest classes and post-baccalaureate certificates. PCC is one of the largest multi-campus community colleges in the United States,with relative ranking varying between fourth and tenth largest. PCC is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
James Nielson Corbett Jr. was an Arizona politician. He was a member of the Arizona House of Representatives from 1956 to 1958,the Tucson City Council from 1963 to 1967,and then Tucson City Mayor from 1967 to 1971. In 1979 Corbett was elected clerk of the Pima County Superior Court,a position he held for twenty years.
The Huachuca Mountains are part of the Sierra Vista Ranger District of the Coronado National Forest in Cochise County in southeastern Arizona,approximately 70 miles (110 km) south-southeast of Tucson and southwest of the city of Sierra Vista. Included in this area is the highest peak in the Huachucas,Miller Peak,and the region of the Huachucas known as Canelo Hills in eastern Santa Cruz County. The mountains range in elevation from 3,934 feet (1,199 m) at the base to 9,466 feet (2,885 m) at the top of Miller Peak. The second highest peak in this range is Carr Peak,elevation 9,200 feet (2,804 m). The Huachuca Mountain area is managed principally by the United States Forest Service (41%) and the U.S. Army (20%),with much of the rest being private land (32%). Sierra Vista is the main population center.
Pima County Courthouse is the former main county courthouse building in downtown Tucson,Arizona It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by Roy Place in 1928 in Mission Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival style architecture.
Daniel Hernández Jr. is an American politician and former member of the Arizona House of Representatives. A member of the Arizona Democratic Party,he served alongside Rosanna Gabaldón in Legislative District 2. Hernández interned for U.S. Representative Gabby Giffords and was present when she was shot during a 2011 constituent meeting. He has been credited with helping to save Giffords's life after the incident.
Douglas Anthony Ducey is an American businessman and politician who served as the 23rd governor of Arizona from 2015 to 2023. A member of the Republican Party,Ducey was CEO of the ice cream parlor chain Cold Stone Creamery from 1995 to 2007 and was Arizona State Treasurer from 2011 to 2015.
Janson Theodore "Ted" Vogt is a former Arizona State Representative and director of the Arizona Department of Gaming. Prior to his appointment as Gaming director by Governor of Arizona Doug Ducey in 2019,Vogt served as the executive director of the Arizona Corporation Commission. Before that,he served as Governor Doug Ducey's chief of operations,and later as the director of legislative and regulatory affairs for Traversant Group. Vogt briefly served as interim director of Arizona State Parks and Trails in 2018.
Charlene Fernandez is an American politician who was the Democratic leader of the Arizona House of Representatives from 2019 to 2021. She was first elected to the state House in 2014 and represents Southwestern Arizona,specifically,the majority of Yuma County,western Pima County,southwestern Maricopa County and southwestern Pinal County. She resigned on November 15,2021 to take a position at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Her son Brian Fernandez was appointed by the Yuma County,Arizona Board of Supervisors to succeed her in the Arizona House of Representatives.

As of June 3,2021 Arizona public health authorities reported 322 new cases of COVID-19 and five deaths,bringing the cumulative totals since the start of the pandemic to 882,691 cases and 17,653 deaths. 12.3% of the state's population has been positively diagnosed with COVID-19 since the first case was reported on January 26,2020.
Tucson Indian school was founded in 1888 with the purpose of facilitating the assimilation of native children of the Pima and Papago tribes from the area around what is now Tucson,Arizona. The school was created under federal acts with the goal of indoctrinating native American children into western colonial society by separating them from their communities' culture and reeducating them in boarding schools. The school closed in the 1950s.
