The 1976 Winter Olympics, officially known as the XII Olympic Winter Games and commonly known as Innsbruck 1976, was a winter multi-sport event celebrated in Innsbruck, Austria, from February 4 to 15, 1976. The Games were awarded to Innsbruck after Denver, the original host city, withdrew in 1972. This was the second time the Tyrolean capital had hosted the Winter Olympics, having first done so in 1964.

He was member of the 1992 Canadian Olympic (Albertville) team as well. He was injured in his last training run for the men's downhill event.

The Canadian Snowboard Federation is the governing body in Canada for the sport of snowboarding. The 2019 Canada Winter Games, officially known as the XXVII Canada Games, is a Canadian multi-sport event that was held in Red Deer, Alberta, from February 15, 2019, to March 3, 2019. These were the third Canada Winter Games held in the province of Alberta, after the 1975 Canada Winter Games in Lethbridge and the 1995 Canada Winter Games in Grande Prairie.
Patricia Marie Ramage was a Canadian skiing executive. As a member of the Canadian Olympic Association between 1953 and 1976, Ramage managed the Canadian skiing team that went to the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1954, 1956 Winter Olympics, and FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1958. While with the COA, Ramage became a member of the Federation Internationale de Ski in 1961 and judged from 1966 to 1977. Some of the events that Ramage judged at include the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1960, 1964 Winter Olympics and FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 1970. Apart from skiing, Ramage started the first Canadian biathlon team that attended the Biathlon World Championships 1978. From 1978 to 1983, she held executive roles for Modern Penthalon Canada and Biathlon Canada. Ramage was inducted into the Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1984 and the Canadian Ski Hall of Fame in 1989. Ramage was also named a Member of the Order of Canada in 1989.
Mikayla Martin was a Canadian alpine skiing, ski cross and mountain bike athlete holding multiple titles in both mountain biking and skiing racing. She raced with the British Columbia Alpine Ski Team from 2014 to 2017 and the Canadian Ski Cross Team from 2017 to 2019. Martin placed 4th in the 2017 Canadian National Championships and won gold at the 2018 World Junior Ski Cross Championships in Cardrona, New Zealand. She was promoted to the Canada Ski Cross World Cup team for the 2018-2019 season and at her first World Cup race in Arosa, Switzerland on Dec 16, 2018, she qualified third and finished 9th after failing to advance to the semi-finals. At her second World Cup race in Innichen, Italy on Dec 22, 2018 she finished 6th and qualified for the 2019 FIS Ski and Snowboard World Championships in Park City, Utah.
