Morten T. Hansen is a Norwegian-American professor, management theorist, motivational speaker and author.

Biography

Hansen obtained his BA in political science from the University of Oslo in Norway. He received his Master of Public Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. His MSc in accounting and finance was obtained at the London School of Economics. He earned a Ph.D. in business administration, with a focus on organizational behavior, from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was a Fulbright scholar and received the Jaedicke award for outstanding academic performance.

Hansen is a full tenured management professor in the School of Information at the University of California, Berkeley, [1]  and is also a faculty member at Apple University. [2] He was formerly a professor in entrepreneurship at INSEAD, [3]  France where he held the André and Rosalie Hoffmann Chair, and an associate professor at the Harvard Business School. [4]

Hansen also worked for the Boston Consulting Group where he was a senior consultant for the London and Stockholm offices and was part of the founding team of BCG Nordics. He worked later as a manager in the San Francisco office. [5]

Hansen is the son of Egill and Lise Hansen. He lives in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife, Helene Hansen, and their two children.

Works

Hansen's research focuses on social networks, collaboration, knowledge management, and corporate innovation and has been published in leading academic journals, including Administrative Science Quarterly , Management Science , Strategic Management Journal , and Academy of Management Journal . In recognition of his work, he received the 2005 Administrative Science Quarterly award [6] for having made exceptional contributions to the field of organization studies. [7]

Hansen has published numerous articles in Harvard Business Review and in Sloan Management Review. Together with co-author and Harvard Business School dean Nitin Norhia, he is the winner of the 2005 Sloan Management Review/Pricewaterhouse Coopers Award [8] for the management article that contributed most significantly to the enhancement of management practice.

Manfred F.R. Kets de Vries is a Dutch management scholar and psychoanalyst, consultant, and professor of leadership development and organizational change at INSEAD. His research focuses on leadership and the dynamics of individual and organizational change, exploring the interface between management theory, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, evolutionary psychology, and executive coaching. He created a group coaching intervention method which is used in business schools and consulting firms. He has written more than 50 books, 400 articles and book chapters on leadership, and organizational and personal change.

David Krackhardt is Professor of Organizations at Heinz College and the Tepper School of Business, with courtesy appointments in the Department of Social and Decision Sciences and the Machine Learning Department, all at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, and he also serves a Fellow of CEDEP, the European Centre for Executive Education, in France. He is notable for being the author of KrackPlot, a network visualization software designed for social network analysis which is widely used in academic research. He is also the founder of the Journal of Social Structure.

Soumitra Dutta is an Indian academic, author and entrepreneur. He is the dean of Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, having taken up the post from 1 June 2022. He was previously a professor of management, as well as the former Founding Dean, at the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University in New York. He was dean of SC Johnson College of Business from 2012 to 2018. Before his appointment to Cornell, he was the Roland Berger professor of business and technology at INSEAD.

Christopher Lovelock was born in the town of Saltash, Cornwall in the United Kingdom. He was best known as a pioneer in the field of Services Marketing among other titles such as author, professor, and consultant. Lovelock was also known for his excellent case studies.

Georg von Krogh is a Norwegian organizational theorist and Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and holds the Chair of Strategic Management and Innovation. He also serves on Strategy Commission at ETH Zurich.

Samuel E. Bodily is the John Tyler Professor of Business Administration at Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. He has Ph.D. and S.M. degrees from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.S. in physics from Brigham Young University. He teaches strategy and decision analysis in Darden's MBA and Executive Education programs. Professor Bodily's area of research is decision and risk analysis, strategy modeling and analysis, forecasting and lifetime consumption and investment planning.

W. Chan Kim is a South Korean business theorist. He is a Professor of Strategy and Management at INSEAD, and co-director of the INSEAD Blue Ocean Strategy Institute in Fontainebleau, France. He is known as co-author of the 2005 book Blue Ocean Strategy.

Philippe Autor Naert is a Belgian organizational theorist, and Executive at several business schools and universities from INSEAD to the Antwerp Management School., known for his work on marketing decision modelling.

Serguei Netessine is a scientist, educator, academic administrator and startup investor. He is Senior Vice Dean for Innovation and Global Initiatives and Dhirubhai Ambani Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. Previously, he was Professor of Global Technology and Innovation at INSEAD and the Research Director of INSEAD-Wharton alliance. He is best known for his work on Business Model Innovation, Operational Excellence and Supply Chain Management.

Yves Doz is a French academic. He is a professor of strategic management at INSEAD, where he holds the Solvay Chaired Professorship of Technological Innovation, and is a Fellow of CEDEP. His research interests focus on innovation, the strategy and organization of multinational corporations, strategic alliances, and on how business organizations can develop the capability to adapt quickly to changes in competitive environments. More recently, he has been working with a number of national governments on strategic adaptability and agility. Luk van Wassenhove is a management thinker and educator. He is a professor of technology operations management at INSEAD, where he holds the Henry Ford Chaired Professorship in Manufacturing. He is also the Director of the Humanitarian Research Group and a Fellow of CEDEP, the European Center for Executive Education, based in France.

Michael L. Tushman is an American organizational theorist, management adviser, and Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School. He is known for his early work on organizational design with David A. Nadler, and later work on disruptive innovation, organizational environments, and organizational evolution. He is also co-founder and director of Change-Logic, a consulting firm based in Boston, US.

Herminia Ibarra is a scholar in the fields of organizational behaviour, leadership, and career development. She is the Charles Handy Professor of Organisational Behaviour at London Business School.

Markus Reitzig is a German organizational scientist, and professor of Strategic Management at the University of Vienna, where he has served as subject area chair since the group’s establishment in 2012. He is best known for his research on the strategic management of corporate innovation, and for his studies on the design of new organizational forms.

Renée Mauborgne is an American economist and business theorist. She is a professor of strategy at INSEAD, a business school based in France. Mauborgne is also the co-director of the Fontainebleau-based INSEAD Blue Ocean Strategy Institute. She is known as co-author of the 2005 book Blue Ocean Strategy.
