Morten Kirkskov (born 28 March 1963 [1] ) is a Danish actor, theatre director and writer. He was appointed artistic director of the Royal Danish Playhouse for the Royal Danish Theatre [2] in Copenhagen in 2015.

Morten Kirkskov graduated from drama school at Odense Theatre in 1990 and has appeared on stage in a number of performances at the Royal Danish Theatre, Østre Gasværk Teater, Aalborg Theatre and Mungo Park. Since 1998 he has been a teacher at the Danish National School of Theatre. He was the artistic manager of the Aalborg Teater from 2011 to 2015. [3]
Kirkskov is known for his role in the 2001 comedy-drama Shake It All About along with several supporting roles in major Danish drama series including Borgen .
In 2010, he made his debut as a writer with the autobiographical novel Kapgang, [4] which in 2014 was adapted into a feature film with the English title Speed Walking , [5] [6] directed by acclaimed Danish director Niels Arden Oplev.
He directed the critically acclaimed production of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night at the Royal Danish Playhouse and won the Reumert Award for Best Director in 2017. [7]
In September 2017, Kirkskov returned to the stage where he starred in a modern production of Ingmar Bergman's Scenes from a Marriage alongside Sofie Gråbøl of The Killing . [8] The successful production debuted its first international performance in October 2018 [9] at the Sydney Opera House in Sydney, Australia, where he shared the stage with acclaimed Danish actress Stine Stengade.
Kirkskov directed a production of Shakespeare's Hamlet at the Royal Danish Playhouse, which premiered in September 2020. The highly-praised [10] production starred renowned Danish actor Esben Smed in the title role.
Kirkskov is in a relationship with architect Kaan Alpagut. [11]

Birgitte Hjort Sørensen is a Danish actress. She has been nominated for three Robert Awards and one Bodil Award. Born in Hillerød and raised in Birkerød, Sørensen aspired to an acting career after watching the West End production of the musical Chicago while at school. She graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts. Her acting debut was in a minor role in the television series The Eagle in 2005. She followed this by playing Roxie Hart in a Copenhagen production of Chicago, and later on the West End. Aalborg Teater is the main theatre in Aalborg, Denmark. Built in 1878, it was subsequently modified by Julius Petersen and was remodeled in 2000. Its address is still Jernbanegade, although the station and the theatre have both moved. The theatre has three stages and seats 870 in the main auditorium. There are 10-12 annual productions with a total of 250-400 performances, covering a wide selection of drama and musicals. Originally privately owned, it is now controlled and owned by the Danish Ministry of Culture. While most productions are housed in the main hall, the building can accommodate up to four shows in its other halls.
Olaf Heine Johannessen, is a highly acclaimed Faroese actor known for his versatile acting skills and remarkable performances. Born on 8 July 1961 in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, Olaf grew up in a family of actors with both his father, Eyðun Johannessen, and mother, Tove Johannessen born Jacobsen, being prominent figures in the Faroese theater scene. The Reumert Award is an annual Danish awards ceremony to recognize excellence in theatre achievements in Denmark. The award was founded by the Bikuben Foundation in 1998, and has been handed annually since then. There are 16 award categories as well as 10 talent awards. A jury of ten specialists in theatre selects the recipients, who receive a statuette and a prize. As of 2016, the recipients also receive an amount of money. The recipients of the Reumert Award of Honour receive DKK 200,000, the recipients of the Talent Prize receive DKK 35,000 and all other categories-recipients receive DKK 40,000. The Reumert prize is named after the Danish actor Poul Reumert (1883–1968).

Anna Guðmundína Guðrún Borg was a Danish-Icelandic actress of stage and screen and autobiographer. The daughter of the Icelandic actress Stefanía Guðmundsdóttir, she grew up in a household where theatre was part of her daily life and began acting at age nine. Borg joined the Royal Danish Theatre in 1928, portraying strong and pure female characters, and also performed in the Dagmar Theatre and the National Theatre of Iceland. She and 11 other people were killed in an aeroplane accident near Oslo in April 1963 and her memoirs were published posthumously the following year. Borg was a recipient of the Ingenio et arti theatre award, the Tagea Brandt Rejselegat, the Läkerol's Culture Award and the Teaterkatten.
Karen-Lise Mynster is a Danish actress who gained popularity in 1978 while performing the role of Eliza in My Fair Lady at Copenhagen's Det Danske Teater. She is however remembered above all for her role as Ulla Jacobsen in the popular Danish television series Matador. In the 1980s, she appeared in leading roles in many stage productions at the Royal Danish Theatre while in the 1990s she performed mainly in films, In 2015, Mynster was honoured with her fifth Reumert Award as best actress of the year.
