Morten Villiers Warren (born 1967) [1] is a British industrial designer. Warren founded Native Design, a design and innovation company, in 1998 and remains the principal creative and CEO.

Education

Warren attended Kingston University (1985–1988) completing a BA in Furniture Design. [2]

Warren is a member of the IDSA [3] and has countless patents to his name. [4] He spoke and represented the British Council at numerous design conferences, including Beijing China, Essen Germany, Mumbai India and São Paulo Brazil. [5]

Career

Prior to founding Native, Warren was a principal designer at Bowers & Wilkins between 1989 and 1992. He was responsible for the loudspeaker brand Solid. [6] He has worked for Philippe Starck as well as Aldo Cibic in Milan. [7]

At Native, Warren oversees product and user experience for a range of sectors, including medical, automotive, FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), and consumer electronics. Native's clients include Anheuser-Busch InBev, Audi, Bang & Olufsen, Baxter International, BBC, Bentley, Bowers & Wilkins, Canal+ , Coloplast, Diageo, Here, Hewlett-Packard, Illumina, Microsoft, Nespresso, Novo Nordisk, Pernod Ricard, SFR , Skype, Banco Santander, and Veon. [8]

In October 2018 Warren helped found Zuma Array Ltd. [9] In May 2021 their first product, the Zuma Lumisonic, was announced. [10]

<i>Bowers v. Baystate Technologies, Inc.</i>

Bowers v. Baystate Technologies, 320 F.3d 1317, was a U.S. Court of Appeals Federal Circuit case involving Harold L. Bowers and Baystate Technologies over patent infringement, copyright infringement, and breach of contract. In the case, the court found that Baystate had breached their contract by reverse engineering Bower's program, something expressly prohibited by a shrink wrap license that Baystate entered into upon purchasing a copy of Bower's software. This case is notable for establishing that license agreements can preempt fair use rights as well as expand the rights of copyright holders beyond those codified in US federal law.

Nura was a consumer electronics company based in Melbourne, Australia, that designed and manufactured headphones with personalized sound technology. Nura's proprietary technology automatically measures the user's hearing sensitivities to different frequencies by monitoring sounds generated from the inner ear. This hearing measurement process takes 1–2 minutes. The headphones then adapt their frequency response to the user's hearing, allowing them to hear more detail when listening to music.
